It's been updated to 1.0.1.

http://www.gpx2.co.kr/data/data_std_view.a...=00&chk=&direc=

Go get it.

1. better compatibility with SD cards
2. less frame drops in movie playback with better SD read performance
3. Battery light is off. (Future version will have it on when low in battery)
4. Pause to play bug in movie player fixed.
5. 10 volume levels in movie player and no pausing when adjusting volume
6. MP3 player slowdown when changing EQ fixed.

Nice, so this is the one we've been waiting for? :p

Could someone get a mirror?

wow... GPH must be forgetting that there are people in europe and the us/canada who have them. that's friggin rediculous. i also thought they were working on an english site... i know their busy, but i bet lots of people feel left out.

plus, is this update the old one, plus the new one? there was one before that fixed the screen problems, do users have to download that and this, or is this new update basically both? that would be nice.

yeah, I was wondering about the old ones... are they accumaltive patches? or are we going to need to run all of them? so far I havent bothered with any of the patches...

Please can someone put up a link...:)

Thanx :)

One thats not Korean ( I have enough trouble with English:) )

Well, this new firmware doesn't seem to must have.

I'm a little bit afraid of uploading it cause the new one has occurred so many complains already on korean site because it is actually not the one we all are looking for exactly.

Hmm, I'll upload here (but, still not sure it is necessary) if anyone already done.

I posted on the old site and asked for an update with english. And i got an answer that said they planned to get it going in december.

So i hope this will happen soon so we can understand what they're talking about their.

Please upload it. I really want the improved movie player volume. I've been encoding all my stuff as DivX, so the fact that XviD is not working yet is not a big deal. It would be nice if the could actually get the low battery light working properly. Shouldn't be much more than a "if low battery then turn on light". Then again there's a reason I'm not a programmer.

Here it is,

Please remind this, you should upgrade your firm and programs ALL!!!

(Upgrading firmware goes automatically, but for program, you should execute patcher, I bet you know what I mean)

BTW, GPH seems really busy theseday:

on korean site, everybody complains everything about GP2X
on engligh site, some guys threaten them for sueing about GPL ;)
(well, I believe GPH already announced they will open their source someday but not now)

Remind again, this firmware is notorious because (not from me, but from others)

: LCD now more flickering
: Somebody got black screen (YOU SHOUD UPGRADE YOUR FIRM AND PROGRAMS BOTH)

Well, I am still not sure I shoud upgrade with it, I love my GP2 as it is though.

@formit: :) you live in korea? then I believe you can login there. well, actually even I asked my freind for downloading cause I use firefox on fedora

EDIT: yes, I misuploaded :( anyone can fix it?
EDIT: GPH confirms it accumulated.

Installed update no problems so far :)

Formatted card then copied over all files. After update ran patch.

Well, I'm not actually sure that I can download from their site. I'm living in Korea on a one year teaching Visa and I don't (AFAIK) have a Korean Internet ID.

One thing I can confirm is that most people having problems with SD cards probably has to do with their card readers. I cannot flash from an SD card formatted on my internal card reader (Toshiba notebook). I can flash from an SD card fofmatted on my Verbatim card reader. I think it has more to do with the card reader and less to do with the SD card.

I will write more once I have tested a video on the new firmware re: movie player volume and LCD flickering.

The new loading screen is nice and says the firmware version on it. And yes, the low battery light is permanently off.

Also, I was able to flash on a low battery (probably not a good idea to do this though). You will also need to run the patch in the utility section so that the programs get updated as well.

Okay. Initial thoughts on new firmware. The screen does flicker now. Noticeably. And a lot. No seizures yet, but will see after the bus ride home. The movie player does in fact have 10 volume settings. We'll see if I'll still have to make the videos louder in VDUB after the bus ride home.

That's all for now folks. I have to prepare for classes this evening.

As before I'm unable to flash the firmware, Just loads up and deletes the img files, I've ran the program updater which worked. They need a workaround to get it to flash on any SD card because I dont think everyone wants to go out and buy a certain SD card just to flash it.

So, is it recommended to upgrade to v1.01 yet? Anyone tested it, and can tell us something?

Here is the link, now from the GP2X archive :) I removed the file in the gp32 archive.
