SONY PlayStation Vita (PS Vita)

yes I heard this too that they have a software update available soon to fix these issues.

Yeah... though some report their Vita freezes whenever they try to do a software update :D

My PS Vita is dead?

Last night, I went to bed reasonably early, because I was waiting for my Vita's battery juice to completely run out/dry for me to progress on trying to bring my Vita back to life.

You see what happened was, last night my Vita wouldn't switch on, even though it still had some battery life in it. I tried everything to revive it!!!

Anyway, upon flipping the little rubber Vita game dust protector-lid thingy open I noticed that there was a little orange L.E.D. still flashing away, so that's when I decided to go to bed and wait till it stopped flashing (meaning the battery would be completely flat). Unfortunately, I do realize that L.E.D. lights don't use that much power, so it'll take a bit of time for it to run the battery dry...and I was right!

This morning, after 8 hours sleep it's still flashing away at me!!!

I'll give it till tonight and let ya'll know what happens, because if I can't rectify this big problem then it's back to Japan for me to get it fixed.

Lucky, I still have another Vita (Wi-Fi only model), which I've lent out for review, atm.

Interesting read below.

  • PS Vita won't turn on

One of the most widespread issues however was that the system would occasionally freeze, either when installing an update or playing specific games. Sony has already addressed this problem and recommends affected users to turn off their systems by holding down the power button for up to 20 seconds, as a normal shutdown is not possible in this case.

But Japanese gamers slowly find themselves asking if they should turn off their systems at all, because now another problem has reared its ugly head: Users have reported that they weren't able to turn on their Vitas anymore. This issue seems to be spreading like wildfire over Japanese support forums and Sony has not yet commented on it. It is of course entirely possible that this is merely due to user error, but the numbers of affected customers seems to be on the rise. We'll have to wait and see if Sony will address this issue as well and how widespread it really is.

Damn, that sucks!

Although I hate waiting for late releases after Japan, it is good in the fact that it allows companies to sort out bugs and glitches before a mass roll out happens. I'm hoping these problems are addressed, and fixed before Feb 22. Not that it matters, as I still plan to take my chances. :p
