Release PCSX ReARMed, with a new GPU

Hola, ran into a small problem, when i select a bios from the menu, such as SCPH1002 or SCPH7502 my pandora crashes as soon as i run a game, or select run bios from the extra's.

Has anybody else ran into this?

The built in bios does run a lot of games, but some dont, and i wanna try those with an official bios.

Any way for me to get it to work?, i am using version R15

I also noticed something myself, the bios has to be be named SCHP1002 (mine was named PSX bios - SCHP1002) or the option run bios wont even show up in the extra menu.

Question, what have you guys named your bios? are they uppercase, or lowercase?

Mine is scph7502 renamed to scph1001.bin and never had such a problem.

Place Bios file in: pandora/appdata/pcsx_rearmed/bios and unzip it.

The Bios files should only have the Bios description (scph1001 etc) - anything else must have been added by your source. You might want to try an actual scph1001 bios file to begin with, there are a lot of variants and the more universal early ones are a safer bet. I'd try another source for 1001 and see how that goes for you. (As Mamemaniac says, it shouldn't be zipped either)

Hi Foxgod.

I saw in your other thread you tested this emulator while significantly overclocked...

Was your unit overclocked when this happens?

Honestly, you don't need to overclock - especially with the Pandora you have. All games I've tried run virtually perfectly at only 600Mhz.

He's using the 1GHz model, although that should need overclocking even less.

You guys are right, to save battery i might as well just clock it lower.

However the clocking isnt the problem as it runs fine with the build in bios, what i did notice however is that al my bios files are uppercase and have txt in them, i am going to turn them to lowercase, and try again :)

Tnx for the reply's.

Most filesystems outside of those used by Windows are case sensitive. So when naming a file on a device like Pandora you should always make sure the case is the same as the name you're told to use.

Will do, tnx for the tip, but since i only just received my pandora i havent read a whole lot of docs yet, which is probably the reason i run into some problems with several programs here and there :)

The code doesn't care about case sensitivity and does directory listing, so either the BIOS files are corrupt or too much overclock. The filenames should have no difference too.

Il download a new bunch of Bios.

I dont think its the overclock, it works fine on 1250 mhz with the build in bios.

You might be on your limit and have been just lucky, try it at 600MHz (save config before loading games) and the report back.

Hi Notaz, it works fine with redownloaded bios, the ones i had before are corrupt, PsxRearmed is a good benchmark to see how far my Panda can go, and it runs stable on 1250MHZ!

I would like to thank you,Exo and all others who worked on it for this awesome program!

One tiny suggestion, would it be possible for Psxrearmed to remember the dir of the last game the user ran?

This way i wont have to browse trough the dir tree each time when i select load iso.

I suppose that upon dir not found, it should just go to the default dir it always starts in.

Wow! Best release ever!

I haven't tested every game that had sound issues before, but so far it looks like I no longer need to keep a copy of r7 anymore!

If I come across anything I'll post here, but...

FANTASTIC job guys! This is one truly amazing emulator. :)

Game "Driver" > New Game > Introduction game (learn how to drive) > START-key brings up menu > Restart: Are you sure? > Yes > Fade-out animation for about 1 second (as intended by the game, I guess), than a blank screen, PCSX crashes.

I've ripped a .bin/.cue of Breath of Fire III SLUS-00422 (US). The game loads fine, but it doesn't respond to any button presses. Loading with scph1001.bin and the rest default settings.

Must be a bad rip because I just tested my copy and it works fine - button presses and everything. Also in .bin / .cue format.
