Eh, that's pretty poor form... sending out other customers' EMS numbers complete with name and city :p

my guess would be that it's prolly not hard to forge tracking code and find one that "loosly" match order...

thats email i got from them, and i didnt buy anything, they have no reason to ship anything, and im not in new york

Keep up the good work SONY! I'm sure you could segue "brits getting rich in china Pt 2" into some of the firmware threads and also in the support section.

And they also attached another one where a Pandora incl. accessories is sitting on an old couch.

Not sure where they found that (didn't find it on google doing a quick search), but I recognized Craigs white shipping box on that pic as well :)

is it perhaps a grab from the Ashens review? lol

This could be used to generate some good publicity for Pandora.

My guess is that quite a few tech sites would be interested in informing their readers of this scam. It also paints the Pandora in a good light to be offered along side mass market products such as those offered on the site.

Love the idea of sending them a wad of monopoly money to pay for a bulk order of Pandoras. :p

couldn't we send them some internets instead?

This is so funny :D

My question to them was:

That looks great, thanks.

Might I ask how you are able to sell it for that low price?

I've tried to get it directly from the manufacturer, but it was a lot

more expensive.

Did you setup a special deal with the manufacturer?

Of course, they replied they have a special deal with the manufacturer :D

I didn't know that ;)

But they can only provide 15 units at once because of that special deal :)

It all makes sense now, Craig is secretly selling icp velcroed to dingoos!

OH BOY. A Panora for only 166$ that sounds great!

I think I will cancel my order from ED and order from the Chinese.

... or I could just throw the money out of the window. Result will be the same. Me without a Pandora and 166$ less on my bank account.

Maybe I should stick with my preorder from Oct 09.

Lol. what a bunch of scam artists and idiots they are.

So if anyone wants to send money to some scam company, here you go, besides the one we already know, these will also sell you OpenPandoras:

[...]

Dandong Huashang Economic and Trade Co., Ltd
No, those don't:

EDIT: Funny, now I got another reply from a different company (Dandong Huashang Economic and Trade Co., Ltd).

"Dear Mr Michael Hello, for Open Pandora 4.3 inch 3D laptop like linux handled
This is no scam for sure, they told you that you'll get a device 'like' a pandora. ;)

Or even better, write them an email, where you reveal your identity and ask them to close their website.

I think the reaction will be priceless ;)
I think initiating laugh to death is not a suitable solution.

At the scammers point of view a nearly done scam of the original producer with his own product would be priceless. Such a scam could make you the king of the scam scene.^^
