SONY PlayStation Vita (PS Vita)

The graphics in Uncharted are pretty astonishing. I mean, they're good for *any* system, nevermind the fact the Vita is a portable device.

I think if the Vita shows similar graphical improvements to all other fixed-platform consoles, it'll easily keep pace with smartphones in terms of graphical quality.

In 5 years time, if it's still alive and kicking, we can probably expect some Xbox 360-like graphics.

Today i played Uncharted, its my first time Uncharted because i ditnt own a ps3 (and dont wont to by something because i now have a PSVITA, its a Portable PS3 i think...

Realy Great, a good german syncronisation, and nice graphics, and the gameplay is also great :)

Beside of Uncharted i also have Little Deviants which is realy funny, and touch my Katamari,

and from the PSN i have Motorstorm RC, which is for 5 € also great to play, and GTA Chinatown Wars, which is an Playstation Portable Game, because i ditnt own this game for my PSP as UMD, but on the DS and its a good game, and it dit cost about 7 €..

The Vita is nice, it has all the Controlls you will need for Core and Casualgames, and thy all work great,

The Display is realy cool, its Big and is an OLED,

I needs only to have more experience whit the Rear Touchpad, but thats noting which is impossible...

So yes, the Vita is Great, my favored Handheld is the Pandora and the 3DS, but the Vita whas a good buy..

What do you think of touch my Katamari? That is one of my all time favourite original games, I could be tempted to buy a Vita just to play this while commuting.

Touch my Katamari is fun, you can use the touchscreen to change the shape of the Katamari, and i think its just like the Katamari on PS3 etc, i dint know how tho say it in english, but i think its wort to play this game, but i think only for this one game, the Vita is a bit expensive, but there was an anoucment for Persona 4 and Final Fantasy X

I'm sure other titles will come out but thats the 1st one other than uncharted I've wanted to get.

Agreed, I'm really excited to see what comes out in the next couple years. 2 years made a HUGE difference in terms of graphical quality for.. well.. Pretty much any system I can think of. :)

Edit: Just want to say again how AWESOME Super Stardust Delta and Wipeout 2048 are. Really top-notch, the both of them. :D

Sorry to hear this.My vita seems fine.Must give it some major play time later though to test everthing out.
Yeah, I'm sorry to tell it.

This is the first defective electronic device in a very long time, if ever. Amazon has already confirmed they are shipping me a new one with 2 day dleivery to arrive on tuesday, and if they ship from Vegas like the last time, I should get it monday. So I'll just play around with this for a few days, and send it back next week.

Has anybody installed the Vita's content manager on your PC? I'm running windows 7, and for some reason my PC just doesn't work with the vita and the program. I hate how companys come up with these crap programs to transfer files, and they work like shit(itunes, I'm looking at you).

Really I could care less about adding music or videos, but I would like to change my lock screen pic and wallpaper at some point. I might try it on my laptop, as that is running Vista, and see what happens. I was just curious if anyone else was having problems.

Chris
Defective, lol?

Defective, lol?
I meant to say defective that I have personally bought. I think the original NES was the last time I got a defective item, and that was only the zapper that didn't function properly. So my track record has been very good until this week.

Damn, that's a lot luckier than I have been in the past several years. I've had so many defective products I can't count them on two hands anymore, and I really don't buy that much..!

Bummer you guys are having problems with your units. Hope the swaps go well.

Gadgetoid, I think I'll try that idea of switching out the background pics. I don't get why they used blue, either... blue's supposed to be the color that wears out quickest on OLED screens. Maybe they finally figured out how to fix it.

I just picked up a few games with the 3 for 2 deal and a 32GB mem card for cheap thru a friend's store discount, but looks like I won't be playing till tomorrow. Still got work to do! >< Wipeout (backordered so I have to wait a bit), golf, and Uncharted.

Woo, nice! I do enjoy a good Ashens.com video. Will give this a watch, thx! :)

Edited with commentary! Or at least the best I could do with text in a forum post.

7:15: ... I attached a lanyard to mine... not long after it came out of the box actually. I have butter fingers, so I always use a lanyard to keep it from slipping out of my paws.

13:00: TOTALLY AGREE. Damn thing looks like a Wii or 3DS UI!

18:00: Agree with the prices of the downloadable games. They're not lower in price enough from the physical copies, and I can't let a friend borrow them either.

41:00: The whole UI (music and everything included) I totally agree with, and even said it out loud when I saw it and used it. "wtf... it's like the 3DS... what he heck?"

At the End of the Video, Ashens said something about the Openpandora :)

I hope the Vita will get a Youtubeplayer soon, this big OLED Display may be a great TV for Youtube :)

Yes, very nice to hear Ashens decline from keeping the Vita for the eventuality it gets cracked for emulators, as 'he has a Pandora for that!'.

Quality review as ever but I have to agree that the mem cards, the online prices and the kiddy interface all suck. As do the currently frankly horrendous looking loading times for seemingly everything. The Tennis looked okay and the screen is definitely lovely though, as I'm sure is uncharted, wipeout, SGD and others. Disappointed the dual sticks dont act as clickable buttons though and the lack of dual shoulder buttons personally, plus the current lack of flash support may rule youtube out for awhile, along with the no TV out at present. Is one planned?

I shall hold off awhile I think.

2 of them I purchased when I was in Japan. 1 of them I received as a Christmas gift...and the most recent one I purchased for under $200 from a person who had a gambling problem/gambling addict.

You supported his gambling addiction and he supported your handheld addiction. Win/Win.
