I guess it will be at least as good as the one on my N900 and I was fine with that one.
It doesn't need to be good at touchtyping. Thumbtyping is good enough most of the time, but the Gemini keyboard felt just wrong as either thumbtyping (mostly due to the awkward and sharp hinge) or touchtyping. Personally I don't understand why they didn't use a scissor mechanism. I'm pretty sure that would have fixed the problem. Especially the Enter and Space keys were just terrible. You had to hit them very precisely in order to work.
As the Pyras keys are more the size of a 200lx you can't hit them wrong. You either hit them or not, just like on an 200lx.
I agree that the Pyras keyboard may not be as good as the one on a 5mx/Netbook or Jornada/Nec, but I understand there is a compromise between size and function, so I'm OK with that. Especially the Nubs use a lot of space, but as one can also use them as a mouse or play some cool games, this is not necessarily a bad choice. The touchtyping Keyboard was also the reason for a lot of devices being too big to comfortably carry in a pocket, as they were just to long.
You could put a 200lx in a Jeans pocket easily. You could even touchtype on it with some practice.
I really like the fact that Evli Dragon doesn't rush the product, like everyone else does. A good design needs some time, but will endure.
Did anybody spot that I started a new keyboard thread?
