The keyboard design took this into account (to an extent). Sure, you will not have labels for all those keys, but it will be easy to remap them.
Pyra keyboard mapping
There's an article in the archwiki, that describes how to change keyboard mappings on an X-Server level. [1]But how do you remap a key?
There should either be an xkb or an xmodmap mapping for the Pyra keyboard, which you can edit.Well, I'm not dissatisfied But how do you remap a key?
That TCA8418 map makes my project a whole lot easier than trying to plot row and columns based off that old schematic you shared... maybe someday I'll finish it.Pyra keyboard mapping: https://www.pyra-handheld.com/wiki/index.php?title=Keyboard

What is this?
When the Pyra keyboard layout was finalized I wanted to make a physical keyboard using the same hardware the Pyra uses and connected the same way. When my first OMAP5 devboard died I put everything on hold, but now I got a replacement. My end goal is to have an all in one Devboard Enclosure with a keyboard and 2.5" HDD slot, something that may look like an Amiga A500/1200 or C64.Is that... a pandora keyboard approximation with some kind of HID breakout?
What the hell?
Why not? have you just wanted to make something?why???

Are you going to add 'nubs' too? I know RadioShack had standalone clickable thumbsticks, but I don't know if they still do.When the Pyra keyboard layout was finalized I wanted to make a physical keyboard using the same hardware the Pyra uses and connected the same way. Yeah I have some Analogs I got online that I may use, but I'm still mulling around if I'll put them on the unit or construct some kind of plug in controller. Are you going to add 'nubs' too? I know RadioShack had standalone clickable thumbsticks, but I don't know if they still do.
Yeah essentially, more of a quirky device with a bizarre keyboard. So, essentially, this will be Pyra desktop?
That depends. If you want to be able to play games, I would recommend making a controller that mirrors the arrow keys and other gaming keys, and has the nubs on it. If you just want it to look like the Pyra's layout, I'd put them where they'd be on a real Pyra.Yeah I have some Analogs I got online that I may use, but I'm still mulling around if I'll put them on the unit or construct some kind of plug in controller.
Just put them on the device where they belong and get some Mickey Mouse gloves to make up for the increased size!Yeah I have some Analogs I got online that I may use, but I'm still mulling around if I'll put them on the unit or construct some kind of plug in controller.
There were a -lot- of them. _wb_ had several that were omni-linguistic.Can you still find them? I'd like to have a look.
I wish I could go to gamescom just so I could hold that sweet perfect clear Pyra in my hands.
Soon, my precious. Soon.
