I would love to add the pyra to my mobile console world! I hate virtual keyboards so my writing is crippled on anything touch screen.

I have an android phone but to be honest it's a crude version of what I want from a device.

If I could have the power of a laptop in an easily carried device. WOW.

3G will help me to get the pyra out there into the bigger world.

I feel the same way with pathetic touch screen keyboards. I didn't ever like them. Yeah actually I agree 100% with this comment entirely!

I think i wants to buy the 3G modell, because, it has also GPS in it, so i can use it somethime for navigation,

Mybe i ditnt use this Modul at the begining, but i tought when i need it, and i ditnt have 3g, i will be a bit sad..

I want the 3G, but not because it has data, I want it for voice to replace my phone. I hate having two things to carry around. I just hope StraightTalk will allow it on their network. I know they will support the frequencies and technology it uses, but I hope they actually allow it, because it seems like they have a bring your own phone thing, but it only lists certain phones. Some of the ones listed use the same chip the Pyra will though.

The only reason I would consider the 3G, is because tethering to my phone will drain it's battery... when I'm out on the road I want as much uptime while away from a power source as possible. I'll probably get the 3G version purely to save on my portable power reserves.

I'm not sure I'll be ordering one (I might also look at some netbooks, I would prefer a keyboard larger enough to use several fingers to type {I don't do real touch typing, but I use more than one/two fingers}. Not much larger, maybe 5cm more width than the Pyra. I like the occasional game with real controls, but productivity is more important).

But if I do order one I'll be sure to get the 3G version, mainly because of the GPS. I might consider a data plan, but only if it can replace my phone entirely (need to be able to make the occasional phone call and text message).

If it's possible to make calls / txt messages then it would be a no brainer for me (as I only communicate with 2 people on a regular basis... and even then, only about twice a day).

Is the 3G version the only one with GPS? What about the 4G, I thought it would have everything the 3G has.

The 4G version does not exist and only might exist one day maybe.

But yes, if a 4G version is released, assuming ED continues the plan, it will have everything the 3G does, including GPS, but with LTE as well.

I am with you on this.  I don't care if it is Straight Talk or something else as long as it is cheap and allows people to get in touch with me.  Prepaid and occasional data use are extra benefits, although at present I have wifi at the places I spend most of my time.

I would like 4G for when I do need data, but any Pyra that allows me to be free of an extra device and still have full communication options is perfect for me.

Well it seems like there are many different reasons for people to get the 3G version. More than what was mentioned earlier in this topic. It would be crazy if the Pyra became so big that more than just this community replaces their phones with the Pyra. Very unlikely but imagine what would happen to mobile phones :p . I bet a lot of you are very excited about this new device. I sure am!

Wifi only for me, will tether to my phone for mobile internet, but may reconsider depending on the price difference between the models.

Is there anyone out there who is crazy enough to buy two Pyras? Okay maybe you're not crazy but you sure are fortunate.

BTW I added a new choice to the poll. Feel free to change your vote at anytime.

I think this poll can be a bit helpful because it shows an estimated demand. Maybe ED can benefit from it, even if it is just for fun.

I have three Pandoras
Here is a very fortunate person :) that's awesome. Is it the Classic, Rebith, and 1Ghz? You must be a lover of Pandoras. I love my Pandora. It is the only thing I play video games on next to my 3Ds that I hardly play now.

I tried this once or twice with Pandora and I couldn't help feeling rather silly. The USB cable dangling around, the minute or two it takes to setup (turn on USB host on Pandora, plug phone to USB, turn on USB tether on phone) and having to undo all that when I need to leave.

Having 3G included on the device itself would be more convenient and I would probably use Pyra for Internet a lot more if that was the case (better Wifi than Pandora would also help).

I have not tried that, but wouldn't phone's battery get drained real quick that way?
