The Caring Corner :)

So the cuff gives you figures for the diastolic which is 14% lower and a systolic which is 4% lower, at least based on one reading compared against you last reading posted here. It took me a little practice to get good readings on my cuff, because the way the cuff inflates and reduces blood flow to my hand made me nervous the first couple of times.

For a more direct comparison, staff took my blood pressure this morning at 156 over 102, then a few minutes later I took it in my apartment at 158 over 100.

I missed my chance to have the doctor run tests on me on Thursday. Now my next appointment is four months away, but the doctor says I can come in sooner if something goes wrong.

I have a thing on the left side of my nose that I think could be a basal cell carcinoma or a squamous cell carcinoma. It could just be acne though. Non-melanoma skin cancers are some of the least deadly cancers out there anyway. Worst case scenario, I lose a nostril.

Took it again just now, got 134 over 93. I think it’s highest in the morning when staff takes it, because that’s just before I take my nifedipine. Nifedipine has a really short half life, so it wears off by the next day, even in extended release form.

I wonder too if I’m taking nifedipine correctly. It says to take on an empty stomach, which I’ve been doing, but now I hear you should wait an hour after taking it to eat, and I usually eat right after I take it because I’m so hungry.

Temperature was 99.5 degrees just now. Trying to decide whether it was the hot bowl of grits I just finished eating or if I have the 'rona.

Temperature was 99.6 just now, no hot bowl of grits nor hot coffee. In fact, I drank cool water right before I took it. Good thing restaurants around here don’t check temperature anymore, because I still plan on going out today, as long as I don’t puke or anything.

At the psychiatrist’s office just now, I got a blood pressure reading of 178 over 102. Two points away from a hypertensive crisis. When I got home though, I checked it and got 147 over 93. What a disappointment.

I can't help @JDTAY, I'm not a positive person nor do I try to be. But just in case it's funny:

Once upon a time, when I was intern, my young boss (the person supervising me) told me
"you're good and intelligent, your only problem is that you're somewhat negative".
To which I instantly replied:
"No!"
(we laughed so much after that that we could not continue the conversation)

that happens for not being raised in Japan, I guess...
