The Caring Corner :)

Yeah, I tend to think you'd know about it if you'd done anything excessive enough to cause a stress fracture, either having to run for your life, or to suddenly start a high intensity form of exercise from a sitting start,

Man, just woke up from my evening nap, and my right foot hurts more than ever. Not sure what this is, that resting makes it worse.

Part of it may be that the body does it's most important repair work while you're asleep and can't feel anything. Obviously the effects of that still sting when you wake up. And partly it's because you learn to ignore pain while you're awake, but sleeping seems to reset that, so you feel it again.

Standing up when the oven beeps that the pizza is ready?

My theory is that his foot is producing spike proteins. And what happens when you step on spikes? Exactly...

Kidding aside, talking about foot's: my grandpa's foot was amputated (caused by last stages of diabetes - he died soon after that).

So, like I said in the COVID thread, I went to the hospital Thursday night, because my right foot was hurting. They didn't find the cause of the pain, since the x-rays were clear, but they gave me some ibuprofen, and I was able to walk again.

My fear now is that I'll never be at 100% again. I'm still walking slow, and I did something to my back while putting on my underwear in the bathroom today. My back doesn't quite hurt, but it is a bit stiff. First stomach, then feet, now back, what's next?

Yes, if you ever tweak your back it puts the willies up you for a few hours. I did it myself when I was cycling coast to coast in this small island, and I had to lie on concrete for a few minutes before I got back on the bike and I was still sure I was about to paralyse myself for a few hours after that.

My back is killing me from certain positions, as being on the toilet just showed me. I just had my morning ibuprofen though, so hopefully it gets better.

My back is fine now, but both my feet hurt again. I’d say the left hurts a little more than the right. Now that I’m on ibuprofen, I’d hate to think how they would hurt if I weren’t.

Take a picture of the soles of your feet (the underside) (I don't need to see it, it's just easier to see pictures than to bend your leg to see it with your own eyes). Do you see small blue lines *(varicose veins)? (and for that, don't put pressure on your foot to take the picture, else it will be white near your fingers and where it is streched)
Now muscle ache is a covid symptom (https://covid.joinzoe.com/post/are-muscle-pains-a-symptom-of-covid-19) - in general, all flu-like symptoms.

but also a covid vaccine symptom (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/labs/pmc/articles/PMC8250971/)
Read those and look which one is better suited to your symptoms. disclaimer: IANAD

Your feet, do they feel colder than usual?

I've never seen varicose veins in the soles of the feet. I'd have though the body would work to preserve the surface of the feet as they're important in motion. Much more common in the side of the legs.

In my experience of flu, it's the major muscles that ache more. The muscles in the feet that operate the toes are small and insignificant from a disease perspective, when you have the beefy shin muscles which are involved in setting the angle of the foot.

Seems like the Caring Corner isn’t a place for me anymore,
I know it’s not that funny to have moles and issues whit the feet,
But I have a bit of a Food Phobia ^^ , same as whit wounds from other peaple..
Movies whit Zombies etc are ok but not on a real live person…
Also i don’t have issues look on my own feet or wounds etc just at others ..

Maybe I wouldn’t be a good doctor?

So please always use spoiler tags ..

My feet got better, so I did my laundry and got my weekly spending money. Only problem now, the only pizza place that takes cash for delivery isn't delivering right now due to inclement weather. Guess I'll get some tomorrow.

I just found out that there's a blood test they can do to detect over fifty types of cancer. Unfortunately, it's only for adults with elevated risk of cancer. I never did get tested for that CHEK2 variant my sister has.

As for my current status, my feet and back are fine. My right leg was giving me some trouble yesterday and early today, but it's fine now too. It would only hurt when I sat down anyway, and only for a few seconds.

I wonder if I should mention, my temperature has been climbing steadily over the past two days. At 98.7 degrees now, which I guess is fairly average, but it was down to 96.7. I'm just worried, because this is sort of what happened fifteen days ago, right before I threw up and spent a night at 100 degrees with chills.

Did I tell you guys I was having blood pressure problems? They finally put me on something for it: nifedipine. They say it relaxes the muscles of the heart by blocking calcium. I’ve long known my calcium level is high, but I was told it was necessary for strong bones and healthy teeth. The dentists are secretly trying to kill us with hypertension.

Jesus, it says heart attack is a common (1% to 10%) side effect of nifedipine. I guess I’ll see you guys on the other side.
