The Caring Corner :)

I've been having lots of diarrhea, sulfa burps, and general indigestion today. I've had days like this before COVID was a thing though. Might've just ate too much when I got my groceries yesterday.

I only really get diarrhoea if I accidentally eat food that's gone off (mainly eggs in the past year). I get indigestion (at least excessive gas in my guts) if I eat too many crisps, and I've never had smelly burps (I assume that's what sulfa burps are, sulphur dioxide). But recent science has told us that everyone's guts are different (at least in terms of glucose spikes after eating food), so it wouldn't surprise me if you get different physical symptoms from similar foods to me.

Well, there is one thing I ate that could've been bad. My sister brought over a stale gingerbread house that my other sister and her kids made. I ate like half of it. I've thrown the other half out now.

I just threw up, so hopefully that gets rid of the burps.

Guys, my temperature is up to 100.1 degrees Fahrenheit, and I didn't even drink any coffee.

At least the burping and diarrhea have relaxed a bit. Still can't sleep though.

I got some sleep sometime after midnight. Not much though, it's only 2:30 AM now.

My temp's down to 99.2 degrees too.

Shoot, I've been fine since this morning, but now my burps are coming back.
Regular illness still exists, and possibly it's something you ate. Hope you keep feeling well.
You aren't chewing bubblegum are you, that's a cause of burps you wouldn't directly think of.

I've been up since that last post, but it's okay, because I got like three hours of sleep before that. Temperature's fine, but I'm still having nausea and diarrhea. I think the burps are gone again.

It does sound like you've eaten something that doesn't agree with you. Possible it's growing inside you, making it harder for your body to clear it all out in one go, or maybe your body is just a bit crap about clearing it all out in one go.

Well, it's 3 AM on Monday, and I still have gas and diarrhea, but fortunately no vomiting or fever. Now some of my muscles are starting to hurt at random times too. Man, I might have to go to a doctor, but then I'll get Omicron. No winning.

Having symptoms for more than four days makes me think it's not just food poisoning. A lot of it matches up with kidney disease. I do take some pretty harsh medications that could cause that. Hmm...

Yes, if you have a lot of gas it tends to make your shit more runny. It can take up space in the colon leaving your food up in the end of the small intestine, or at the very least reducing the time it spends in your colon as it comes through. The small intestine is mostly about mixing up your food and extracting nutrients, whereas the main job your colon has is recovering water from it, so that you don't have to drink so much. But if the colon is full of gas and the faces just rushes through when you open up and fart into the bowl, it won't have much chance to dry up.

Something's producing that gas though, and if that's not normal for you, I'd agree with phoning the doctor.

No diarrhea this morning, but I did have some last night. Fever's gone again too. Anyway, my left foot hurts, and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to walk to my COVID test today. Even my right foot doesn't feel 100% now.

Going back to what I said about kidney disease, I'm wondering if the pain in my left foot is gout. If it is, it's a minor gout. Still makes it hard to walk.

I think you should become a health freak / exercise maniac. Seems like the natural thing for you.

It's weird as hell. My left foot is almost back to 100%, but my right foot hurts a lot now. I'm thinking it could be stress fractures.
