Slackware for Pandora 14.0

salut LS

a quick question, what is the difference btw the network manager on slack and on superzaxxon? since on slack i have no problems connecting first time via wireless whereas with superzaxxon it can take several tries to connect!

cheers

It's far more recent (9.6.4 vs i don't know for Zaxxon).

But the magic can be somewhere else, maybe libs ?

I have downloaded "R" now with Gslapt but can't find it in the menu?

Where do I have to look for it?

How do I start it?

(I know ,this is some stupid question)

2:

As I have a German QWERTZ Keyboard on my Pandora it would be nice to switch the y and z, and _ and / button.

pndXmodmap doesn't help here.

What is to do here?

Can't you just change the locale?

How do I do this?

On my Pandora OS I open up /home/askarus/.pndXmodmap and change "Z" with "X".

After a reboot it's fine.

Does Slackware need some more modifikations?

R is a command-line program.

Should have some external gui around.

The locale will only change the language.

Try to edit /root/.pndXmodmap

If it doesn't work, maybe /etc/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap

/root/.pndXmodmap

didn't help.

Next try.

EDIT:

/etc/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap

Was good.

Thanks.

hi

how do i install this dependency?

@Linux-swat

Have you tried to compile qemu 0.15.1 ?

Its the full working Version that we used for our Qemu PND.

I tried it to compile with following Configureparameters yesterday evening.

./configure --target-list=i386-softmmu --audio-card-list=ac97,sb16,adlib

After configurating and a while compiling comes a error with libgthread or near.

I googled it and its seem to be a glibc error.

The configure parameters will just compile the i386 emulation and i wantet to Experiment with ac97 Sound emulation.

Can you solve that?

Greetings from snowwhite germany:)

Some small request.

Could you add the "Keyboard Layout" PND into slackware.

As I use it with DisplayLink and external Keyboard it would be nice to be able to switch easily between different Keyboard layouts.

Askarus,

I had the same idea, but I wanted to check first, if the keyboard layout switcher PND is compatible with slackware (i.e. if it changes the correct xmodmap file etc.).

If not, we might need to modify the PND so that it works correctly with slackware.

I'd luckily do all that, if no one else will have done it until I have the time (which is probably not before Monday).

I used the PND with Slackware the last 4 Days without any issues. (Switching from Pandora's layout to external German layout and back).

Quick answer:

@ingoreis:

Will take a look. I pretty sure it compiled under 13.37.

If you took your sources, don't forget the make clean.

@Askarus:

As long as the author is ok and the pnd works...

I download/decompress the sources everytime again:)

There is no old Data :)

Had your error, will dig it.
Cool thx :)

This Version is the best working Version.

Maybe you can Compile it with

--target-system-list=i386softmmu,i386-linux-user (or near for I386Emulation and the Qemu Usermode i386 for experimenting :D )

and

--audio-card-list=ac97,sb16,adlib ^_^

in the standart Configure is adlib and ac97 not included

Thanks for your digging ;)

- when playing a video in firefox there is no sound?
Not tried yet, i just want to finalize MPlayer, then i'll test, 'cause i may install the mplayer plugin (which work nicely on x86).

A quick update:

I now ship gparted and testdisk/photorec.

The video part is now up and running, but i'll try to optimize more.

I asked slaeshjag about the possibility of shipping his .pnd.
