Release LibreOffice for Pandora

I selected the default language and it doesn't seemed to have changed anything... sadly.

I went into the settings and clicked to see what was in the dictionary... only technical words like applet  and macro and stuff like that... And only that. Colour, Dog, Cat not included... So i'm guessing the dictionary needs to be updated... or downloaded?

All the dictionaries should be extracted at first launch (or update). It's the main data that are extracted, along with a few other extensions.

Look at appdata/libreoffice/home/extensions/ for the list, you should see folders like "dict-en", "dict-fr", etc...

Perhaps in the settings, it's actually showing your user dictionary, that is the words that have been defined that aren't in the standard dictionary.  Just a guess though.

Edit: I just checked LibreWriter on my laptop too, and that doesn't seem to be checking spelling at all either.  Likewise, my local language dictionary only contains words like 'applet'.

Okay, I've just installed LibreWriter and tested it.  I also can't get English spell-check working (for en-gb text).  I've set my default language, and set the document language, but it doesn't detect the misspelling 'kolor' either automatically, or if I manually spell check the document.

Looking at my dictionaries, the en-gb and en-us only appear to contain the spelling for things to do with LibreOffice itself.  The standard dictionary appear to be empty.

FWIW, on my Arch laptop, I get the same results.  LibreWriter 5 spell check doesn't work there either, and the dictionaries appear the same.

Ah. I will try to compile and test a stable version (not soon, because it takes days just to compile).

So, after quite some work (try and error and get frustrated type), I now have a cross-compiled build of LibreOffice.
It's compiled with LTO and optim, java, and all...

...
But
...

I found the build unstable, and, the Menu are not behaving correctly. It's a stable release (5.0.2.2), but still, I found that a bit strange.

for those of you who wants to try, the pnd is here.

Also, I have found that some previous extension from libreoffice 4 can crash the v5 at start, so I propose (in the runscript) to remove them (in fact, I propose twice, so that leave youthe oportunity to try without removing them).

Here's a working build script in case it can help :
http://taper.alienbase.nl/mirrors/people/alien/slackbuilds/libreoffice/build/libreoffice.SlackBuild

Did you try a minimal build ?

I build LibreOffice now, my script and cross-compile environment are working.

But I have a strange behavor on the menu. Did you use the slackbuild script to build LO on Slack yet? And did you notice something on the menu (you need a small screen, like the Pandora, and a long menu, like with writer, and a mouse...).

Thought about some options to look at inside.

I didn't use it myself but I use the packages compiled with it.
What's the problem with the menus ?

When the menu is bigger than the screen, it can scroll. This works fine. But the newly appeared item are not clickable with the mouse.

Doesn't run under Slackware (old version is ok), but I guess it's no help :

@Linux-SWAT: thanks for the repport. For Slackware, I'll try to make the PND compatible. So I should copy libgmp.so to the slackware lib of the PND it seems.

About Java, do you use a Java in the OS (in a regular way), or the Java PND like on SuperZaxxon?

OpenJDK 7u13 b20 is installed by default on SL4P as a package. I'll probably drop it from the next release as Java is now a dying language.

I never use Java on Zaxxon.

Ok, so I'll put another "if" in the runscript to use OS version of Java for Slackware.

Ok, thanks.
You said before that you compiled a previous version of LO without Java, why is this needed now ?

Yes, not a Java issue,
And yes, menu are (I think, but not 100% sure as the source are huge) GTK ones.

I'll try to remove my changes (made to make the LO windows fit the screen) one by  one, just in case one is wrong (but it was the same changes as previous version, and previous was working fine).
