Just a quick heads up

Am I the only one who don't need rumble effects on Handhelds or input devices at all? And I know rumble effects since Lylat Wars on the N64 was released. ;)

Same. I don't like rumble at all and always turn it off

I want to use the Pyra as a cellphone and simultaneous audio and rumble are pretty important for notifications.

Funny, I don't like my cellphone making noise at all.
All I want is some flashlight indicating that someone wrote me a text message.
I hate synchronous communication and I don't like to be available for everyone all the time.
If my phone would constantly making noise when someone wants something from me, that would bee much too stressful to me.
I'm not the slave of my phone.

I see that it's important for some people to be available all the time.
It's just that I don't like that.

Well, regarding audio: So far, all prototype units had the exact same problem with audio.
There were a few that have been more sensitive than others (stream crashing more likely), but ALL of them had a corrupted audio stream as soon as vibration had been enabled.

The proven solution for that is an inverter - which does nothing else than inverting the impulses form the clock. Shifting the clock would have the same result, as the clock signal is continuos.
What we did by removing the resistor was basically shifting the clock. So yes, basically, it IS very similar to inverting the impulse, and while the clock signal might not be shifted exactly how much it should be, a clock signal also has a bit of a tolerance.

So if it works with multiple boards which I've tested and the original issue is the same on all of them, it's very likely the fix should also behave the same for all of them.

Eh even if that doesn't work perfectly at least for me it won't be an issue since I probably won't use rumble much if at all. Definitely not as bad as some of the bugs the Pandora had.

Fingers crossed on a suspend solution

Originally, my plan was to use the 4G Modem on my Pyra whit a second SIM, but as every SIM is 10 € + in my Dataplan, im currently tinking it would also be fine to use my Iphone as a Mobile Hotspott, and maybe give this a bit extra Juice from my tiny Powerbank..

But the Vibration Motor is also good for Playstation Emulation, and other Rumble Systems like the N64.. if the Emulator supports this..

As the Pyra ditnt have this Dual Boot thing like my Notebook has, where you have to chose between Windows 10 and Ubuntu, i think its will boot ub pretty fast..

I know it's dutch but I'll translate.

Panel one "Pff I'm getting tired of this family app, all the rumble from these nosense messages"
panel two "Wait I can solve it" , "Don't turn of the notification I want to receive important messages"
panel three "There, you wont get any useless messages anymore", "Wow, how did you do that?"
panel four "Could you please send some more messages quickly? We are using the rumble function as a low budget vibrator!" , "Grandma just left the conversation".

If I understand the hardware explanation, removing the resistor does not have any disadvantage and may allow audio and vibration at the same time. Even if someone doubts it will always work with all Pyras at all temperatures, etc. the point is that it doesn't break anything.

I don't need to play sound at the same time it vibrates. Even if I wanted notifications, I think I would prefer either only sound, only vibration, or if I want both, I still could alternate one second each or so.

But if they found a solution, why not implement it ?

Really hoping that it becomes possible to use PINN NOOBS, Ventoy, YUMI or any other multiboot system with the Pyra!

By removing the Restistor, ditnt they leave a gap between 2 traces?
Shure you can allways use Dualboot on Pyra, but i was more meant in comparasion to my Notebook
On Pyra, i dont want to use multi OSes,

I suppose so, yes. But what's wrong about it ? There are gaps between lots of traces (otherwise they would shortcircuit)
I'm not sure I understand the hardware, but I don't see the problem.

Well, it can be useful to test a different distribution, while you still have your everyday software available.

This being a full linux device, I expect what it does when the modem indicates an incoming phone call to be completely configurable, although you may need to edit a file in /etc to get what you want.
Sure.
It's just that I find it funny that some people really want rumble features in their controller and I find it completely disturbing.

This is how i understand it and people that want to use it as a phone shouldn't really have any issues either. The only time vibrate and sound happen at the same time is during the ring. In call it's just audio

You can use an external SD card to test distro, seems easier than playing around with multiboot. Then if you want to switch between two distros you use often, of course, multiboot is a handy solution. On my RasPi I have a multiboot with RaspberryOS for PC-like things and Batocera for console-like things.

Not that it would matter at all, but the very idea of someone using the pyra (or any other device of it's size and shape) as a cellphone is completely beyond me.
Yes i know, ppl use their huge iPads as cellphones, too.

I just think it is super strange.

But the pyra will be an amazing device. It's been designed and built with freedom in mind in order to make it work the way you want it to. Should you choose to use it as a cellphone (why, oh why?!) you can do so. Isn't that just great?
Hooray Pyra!!

You just use either a Bluetooth earpiece or a mini phone that connects to your main device via Bluetooth (the method I use). Unless you're an iPad user, then all bets are off.
