To be fair, the Pandora didn't have anything that could even closely compare to it. While not identical there is a lot more overlap between the Pyra and the GPD Win to give some extra people pause. We know this because I remember people saying they couldn't wait anymore and got a Win. How many people aren't saying? How many people have completely forgotten the 400 they put down for it and, when reminded of their pre-order, will ask for a refund? The Pandora was not dead after 3,5 years preorder, in my case.
This makes me really nervous. To be fair, the Pandora didn't have anything that could even closely compare to it. Yeah PC games and web browsing is what I use the win for, it replaced my potato laptop. But it's too slow for PSX and DS emulation and having to use a sensitive 128GB usb is a bit of a pain. And I know quite a few customers of mine bought a Win but are still using the Pandora for most things - like classic gaming, emails, etc., as the Pandora is a lot better with that.
The Win is nice for PC gaming and some Windows-Specific stuff - but there are a lot of things the Pandora is still superior (optimized and preconfigured emulators and games, battery life, installing / uninstalling games, storage space, keyboard and gaming controls,
I also got my wife a Win as she uses the Pandora mostly for web and most websites are so bloated these days that the Pandora can't cope with them.
She tried, but changed back to the Pandora as the keyboard was unusable for her and the battery was empty when it was lying around in standby for 1 or 2 days.
She's now waiting for the Pyra as well
Darn, my thingy broke and I came prematurely into need of a new phone. Why couldn't it go on for another Two Month (TM)? Why, oh why?
Ordered a Moto G5 for 129,00 € - at least I was lucky enough, that it was Black Friday. Now, I need to get a nano-SIM-card, that's also for LTE. The Pyra wouldn't take nano-SIMs, too, by any chance?
I don't know what provider you're using but I got my sim transferred for free with Telstra a while agoWell, I told my provider (o2), I'd need a new SIM, and they then told me, that'd be no problem and it be 25€. Whoooot? A*****... ehem "not so nice guays"
Six years ago, something like that was free of charge. 25€ for a stupid chipcard, unbelievable.
I don't think, now, that I'll get an adapter with that - would rather be another 50€, I guess. *grml*
She's now waiting for the Pyra as well

kopft'àmi !!
That really sucks. DirecTV did that to my parents when they moved, they decided that updating the address meant a reset of the contract. At the moment I'm very unhappy with them. Right after I ordered the new SIM, an email arrived. It isn't entirely clear to me, but it seems to sugest, that my ordering a new SIM card is meant to be an adjustment of the contract, which then would establish a new 2-year minimum term.
Reason is a virtue of the olden days. Hipsters have clever ideas. That really sucks. DirecTV did that to my parents when they moved, they decided that updating the address meant a reset of the contract.
