Oh god... I really hope more people enter... if worst comes to worst I'll compile my game... but it's really nowhere near ready...
Don't worry, people will enter at the last minute, tomorrow. I know Goity's submitting his then, and that it will be in a playable state.

Well, there is still more than 24 hours to finish, so get cracking, folks!

I have a bit of an announcement to make, and I ask for your understanding of this in advance. As you know, we have gone to great lengths to ensure that the community is what fuels the competition and that the community is included in the decisions and news every step of the way. And now we come to another crossroads.

As the situation stands, there will probably not be enough entries to effectively pull off the judging system we previously detailed (that is, the Eurovision Song Contest style). What Psy has suggested, and I have agreed to so far, is the following:

We do all the reviews as planned, meaning all games will be reviewed like the sample review included on the site, in the "rules" section, the only change being that the score will be out of ten rather than five.
After this, all the scores will be laid together to form a score out of forty (we have four judges at the moment. If we get one more*, the score will be out of fifty, et cetera).
Simple. Effective. Fair.

How does this sound? Any input? If nobody objects, this is the way it will slide.

* Applications for judging are no longer accepted, but we are still handling contact with some potential judges.
If my pong game scores a total of "4" out of all the judges, then I will consider it a damn miracle.

How is THIS for an announcement?!

NEW SPECIAL PRIZE!!

The folks at gp2xstore.com have been awesome enough to donate a copy of the well-known GP2X game PAYBACK, to the winner of the special category, Community Favourite!

If this is not an added incentive to enter the competition, am sorry, but then I don't know what is. So get to crunching! Out of curiosity, how many people are currently working on getting their entries in at the moment? You do realise that you have less than 30 hours to do it, right? </stress-application>

(By the way, I just recently had the chance to check out the Payback demo, and man, does that game look yummy.)

I also have an essay that's due in less than 24 hours, and I didn't even start that, that's how much I love the 2X. I sure know my priorities.

sam slowdown on the entry updates lol.
Lol, sorry, I have one more :D It just fixes a bug on the pause menu if you pause while trying to serve.

Edit: It's not a very complicated game, therefore it takes about 20 seconds to add in a feature :D

Well, I can't say anything right now, but I have some extra special prizes for the winners of the competition lined up! I think you'll all be quite happy when you hear what I have to give, and it's all thanks to the wonderful retailers we all know and love from the forums!

Now, gp2xstore.com has been joined by ED and Craig who have jumped on board with some awesome stuff which I will lay on you a little later in the day, when all the deals are finalized. This is so exciting, I can hardly contain myself. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Maybe you could cook up some new prize spots, I mean 1st, 2nd, 3rd get cold hard cash, the following few get goodies :)

Well, that sounds really promising but it also means I will be REALLY pissed if I don't win at least SOMETHING ;)

We'll have to see how we distribute the prizes, but with the current amount of entries, we'd rather give the winners some really awesome prizes than give everyone prizes. The hard cash prize pot is quite good as it is, but if we can give the best developers an even better deal, then they'll be all the better for it, and we won't have to give cool prizes away to undeserving *coughpongcough* entries. :D

Sam, don't worry, your pong clone has a permanent space on my SD card. :)

We are up to 6 entries so far, it seems every so often a new email comes in with a new entry :)

Some may take a while to review as there are some with *spoilers*RPG elements*spoilers*.
