A daily report from the Rebirth

Sunday was, again, not about building Pandoras.

Link planned to go seeing the Illuminati museum.

Someone at the hostel told me there will be a big party at Goldfinger, a city near Ingolstadt. Maybe the one from the 007 movie ? Anyway, i preferred to walk there as it seemed not far, around 4km.

Cool walk following the road, crops partially covered by melting ice, horses, ravens.

Arrived at the city, no party :/. Just loud music in what looked like a small bar. So tourist mode, observing, taking pictures.

A nice town. Semi-urban, semi-rural houses.

Getting back at my start point, i realized the small bar was full of people, and there were in fact ...two bars full of people.

Talked to nice persons here. Tasted new beers :) . Fortunately i'm careful now with bavarian ones, so no damage ^^. At least for now, 'cause the night isn't finished yet.

Skipped bus hour for going home while refining some dark fluid, having fun explaining why i were here, showing the pandora, saying "It's made in Ingolstadt", then missed one bus again, arriving probably 2 minutes late !

It's Germany. The bus passed, no need to wait... :D .

I hitched, and the second driver halted and took me right at the hotel entrance :) .

Was so easy i went for adding another walk into Ingo by night.

Oh, some days ago, i had an idea about a funny contest idea, so no pictures for you today, but be sure not to miss this thread :

I think the contest is meant to make us look at your photos more.

Great photos they are tho. I had a chuckle at the US Mail box.

Just found a way to assemble the hinges about 10x faster and without hurting your hands :)

Great :D

That sounds a lot better than using a Chinese worker, and certainly better than hurting your hands.

if its somehoe possible to get hold of a DS hinge (with multiple stop points) are they directly swappable for the pandoras hinge? Im sure I read somewhere that they were.

LOL @Linux-SWAT: "There was no party, just loud music ... and a lot of people!"

Yes, they work IIRC. Would love one of these meself!

Got the LCD process down to 2:30, not sure if I can get much faster than that. Did 62 since 14:00, and took a half hour lunch.

We have over 200 cases ready for PCBs, and tomorrow, I'm going to bust out some more LCD/Lid assemblies.

That's all I got for today.

Fortunately ^^.

I was 3 hours late for the party. Hopefully parties never ends in Germany. We just saw Batman and Catwoman in a bar.

Yeah, boxes are now filled with mobo-less Pandoras !

Day went pretty fast.

First, because i was two hours late, and second because we are at cruise speed now, no time to think.

So here's the daily pictures. You'll see the wonderplier and the way it's used to gain a lot of time, and avoid finishing at the hospital, a screwdriver in the arm (not the processor, huh).

We have to thank ED's girlfriend, who bring us some neat out-of-the-oven muffins she made. I didn't take a picture of it because i already ate them ^^.

That's all folks !

There should be NO Wonky buttons, especially that bastard A button. It's an easy fix, but who wants to rip open a fresh Pandora?

I'm kind of dreadfully planning on it myself, if using a DS hinge actually makes a comfortable difference. I have a bunch of DS Lite hinges and parts... but I'm used to only being able to change anything out from a system or controller after breaking my first couple attempts in order to learn. Is this spoken of hinge change worth it or simple?

I swapped hinges on a DS and it was incredibly tricky...

This is the one failing of the Pandora IMO (apart from no decent wifi...) - I like to play with the screen at an angle (like the DS).

Can we have a definitive answer on whether or not DS hinges can be swapped with the existing ones. This is a mod I would _REALLY_ like to do.

My lid/lcd is already getting 'loose' and I fear soon the stiffness will soon be gone completely.
