What Do People Want To See Demoed On First Completed Prototype?

I'd like to see anything without cables attached (except to a tv, maybe ;) )

Wirelessly surfing, showing OS menus, showing what it takes to load & run an app. Doesn't really matter which, cuz I ain't playing. There'll be time for that in a few weeks >_<

I ran WarCraft 2 (and played through first level :p) on the unit; I only took a photo or two, because I don't have time to muck with youtube. ie: I can shoot a quick video wit my camcorder (which is in mpeg2 so easy), but spending an hour uploading it to youtube sounds like a big waste of time :)

I know it's impossible, but shame it's not World of Warcraft. Imagine the response if that game could run on the Pandora?

A working prototype of the huqotron, full screen video and someone playing mario kart or something like that effortlessly with the pandoras controls would do me :D

Great support for 3G modem : both on USB and via BT
Great email client with IMAP support
Quake 3

How about something demonstrating the wifi... like it would be funny to record a video... upload it to youtube and then watch it on the pandora to demonstrate what it can do. Does that make sense?

Probably someone actually "PLAYING" a game would be good. I mean... yeah we know it runs, but seeing someone play is a little more fun.

I would love to see Red Alert running on DOSBox. Aside from that, the standard OS Fare and maybe some impressive emulators and interpreters.

I hate to sound like PoisonedV yelling at myself here, but I DO NOT WANT the kind of people who would buy a UMPC just to play WoW anywhere near this forum.

i guess something like WoW would boost the pandora but I really don't want "those kind of folks" on our forums. Internet segregation!

Can't speak for anyone else but my response would be disgust. :p
+1. Now I would be interested in seeing what you have so far of your MMO running on the Pandora. ;)

Nintendo sixt**SHOT**

I'd like to see yoshi's island on the snes emu, resident evil 2 on the psx emu, quake 3 and a youtube video, preferably that one when the baby panda sneezes and the big panda nearly shits itself but then carries on eating.

Another +1 to the Wifi request. I know it's a PITA to set up, but it would be nice to see a good signal strength from the antenna inside that little box.

Apart from that would be gaming controls and keypad. We've already seen enough youtube demons to know what the hardware is capable of.

Pandora doesn't need more buzz, but your "investment partners" would love some new information. ;)

Wouldn't be much to look at since I'm still laying the groundwork for actually building a game on top. Even then I wouldn't expect to see anything using Python and OpenGL ES working on an actual Pandora until some time after it actually ships. At least, as far as I know there's still no actual (good) way to use OpenGL ES from Python.

I would like to see the Pandora being used, like how we would use it.

I.E. Powered from a battery, using wifi on the device, using firefox. Than for games I would like to see either Quake 1,2 or 3 people played with the analog nubs and shoulder buttons and emulators I would like to see Street Fighter 2 through a SNES or Medadrive emu and pull off a fireball or dragonpunch (with relative ease) with the Dpad and Analog nub.

Basically, what I would like to see is how I plan on using the device and also confirming that the controls are nice to use.

^ +1

Also, on the German forum there are some reports from people who attended Olymptronica and tried the nub controls, all positive reports.

some of you guys mentioned World of Warcraft... and I've been thinking: if any blizzard employee gets hooked on the pandora, he could make a port for it to work on the pandora. I mean, what's the harm in it? :p this would be the first pocket computer to be able to run such a great success

I hope you're joking, because there's like no way Blizzard will put in the effort to port WoW until at least 25% of their customers already have a Pandora and are threatening to cancel / suicide-bomb Blizzard HQ if it's not ported.

Edit: No, you've gotta be joking. That's so much effort to even design a port. It doesn't even.
