Firefox. I wouldn't touch IE with a 50 foot pole. Every time I use it, spyware magically appears on my computer.
Not just spyware!Swiss_Cheeseman posted on Apr 15 2004 at 06:44 PM said:Firefox. I wouldn't touch IE with a 50 foot pole. Every time I use it, spyware magically appears on my computer.

I personally use FireFox and used to use Internet Explorer. B)
Firefox is open source, and you have contact with the developers, and your "wishlist" items, actually get considered! Kinda like the GP32 community...its no wonder there are alot of Firefox converts here.
However, it should be noted that Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox use the same engine, Firefox's full name is Mozilla Firefox.
Yes, hold Ctrl+Click or click with Middle mouse button (rollerball) or right click "Open in new tab".Azure posted on Apr 15 2004 at 08:44 PM said:Also, does Firefox allow you to open new windows in tabs?

Site said:Firefox began because a group of people who used to work on the Netscape browser releases wanted to show the world what a browser would look like if it were developed using the flexible Gecko layout engine and XPFE, but without the constraints of commercial interest and the creep of esoteric features from the developer community. [...]
Beginning with the core Mozilla code, unnecessary UI was removed, existing UI were refined and new UI added with the goal of providing efficient (speedy, easy to use, useful) web access. The goal was, and is not to have more or less features than any other client (Mozilla included) but to have the right set of features to let people get their jobs done.
[...] The idea is that for people using IE and wanting a bit more, for users of Mozilla who never touch 85% of the content of the Preferences dialog, users of Netscape 4 and other browsers - Firefox should fit like a glove.
No, Firefox and Mozilla can Coexist without problems.Azure posted on Apr 15 2004 at 09:35 PM said:If I install it, it doesn't automatically replace Mozilla, does it?

Yes. Firefox and the Mozilla Application Suite use different profiles that don't interfere with each other
Err... how do I access this "trusted zone" in Netscape? I can't seem to find it... h34r:sites magically place themselves on my "trusted zone", etc... FUN FUN!
Trusted Zone is an IE only thing, goto Options / Security in Internet Explorer to see it.Esn posted on Apr 16 2004 at 03:35 AM said:Err... how do I access this "trusted zone" in Netscape? I can't seem to find it... h34r:sites magically place themselves on my "trusted zone", etc... FUN FUN!
You should contact the skin maker and see if he made a compatible skin, all it takes are a couple very minor changes from the old mozilla skin style to the new mozilla skin style.Azure posted on Apr 16 2004 at 08:31 PM said:I just installed Firefox and I must say it's real nice. However, the theme I like (spheregnome) isn't supported by Firefox versions 0.7 and up.
Hmm...it appears I misread. It said that it wasn't compatible with Firebird versions .7 or later. Anyways, it works fine and looks pretty damn sexy!Akuma no Houkon posted on Apr 16 2004 at 03:03 PM said:You should contact the skin maker and see if he made a compatible skin, all it takes are a couple very minor changes from the old mozilla skin style to the new mozilla skin style.Azure posted on Apr 16 2004 at 08:31 PM said:I just installed Firefox and I must say it's real nice. Firefox IS Firebird, which started out as Pheonix. They have gone through multiple name changes, but the change to the Firefox name should be the last name change. Maybe the skin didnt work on Firebird (which was version 0.7 and earlier) but whatever issue it had was resolved in Firefox (0.8 and later).Azure posted on Apr 17 2004 at 10:23 PM said:Hmm...it appears I misread. Just use the middle mouse button (or press down on the wheel if you have one) to open things in tabs, it makes life much easier. (in Firefox that is).GPJosh posted on Apr 18 2004 at 01:19 AM said:I find Opera gets cluttered and that in FireFox you can get an add on that automaticily opens everything in tapped windows.
