Firefox. I wouldn't touch IE with a 50 foot pole. Every time I use it, spyware magically appears on my computer.

Not just spyware!
When I use IE, my homepage magically changes and bookmarks appear from nowhere, and little porn programs get installed on my PC, and I get these security / privacy warnings from my firewall(s) telling me private info is being sent/requested, and I get pop ups galore, my toolbar gets nice little advertisements and links/buttons, sites magically place themselves on my "trusted zone", etc... FUN FUN! Yay! its like a carnival! Only, instead of rides, its viruses, security issues, browser hijacks and other "fun" things!!

Firefox just isnt as fun.. all I get when using firefox are little icons in my status bar and the occasional warning dialog that tells me that someone/something/somepage tried to do something nasty and firefox stopped them...no excitement at all

I personally use FireFox and used to use Internet Explorer. B)
Same here. :p
Me too.
Ditto
And here's another one....
another one for the firefox piramyd!
Yet another.

Firefox is open source, and you have contact with the developers, and your "wishlist" items, actually get considered! Kinda like the GP32 community...its no wonder there are alot of Firefox converts here.

However, it should be noted that Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox use the same engine, Firefox's full name is Mozilla Firefox.
me too... lets see if we can reach a record of most quotes in a single post
We've got a long way to go!
Same here :)

In what ways is Firefox better than Mozilla? Also, does Firefox allow you to open new windows in tabs?

Yes, hold Ctrl+Click or click with Middle mouse button (rollerball) or right click "Open in new tab".

Mozilla (the browser) was great to begin with, but eventually got bloated with excess features and is now a big mess like Netscape (although its not as bad because its opensource not powered by AOL) . Firefox is a rewrite of Mozilla to get a faster, cleaner, better browser with a much better feature set.

Mozilla (the browser) itself, is being discontinued. Firefox is replacing it.

Site said:
Firefox began because a group of people who used to work on the Netscape browser releases wanted to show the world what a browser would look like if it were developed using the flexible Gecko layout engine and XPFE, but without the constraints of commercial interest and the creep of esoteric features from the developer community. [...]

Beginning with the core Mozilla code, unnecessary UI was removed, existing UI were refined and new UI added with the goal of providing efficient (speedy, easy to use, useful) web access. The goal was, and is not to have more or less features than any other client (Mozilla included) but to have the right set of features to let people get their jobs done.

[...] The idea is that for people using IE and wanting a bit more, for users of Mozilla who never touch 85% of the content of the Preferences dialog, users of Netscape 4 and other browsers - Firefox should fit like a glove.

Why you should use firefox over other browsers:

If I install it, it doesn't automatically replace Mozilla, does it?
No, Firefox and Mozilla can Coexist without problems.

Yes. Firefox and the Mozilla Application Suite use different profiles that don't interfere with each other

You should really just read the FAQ it answers all your questions

Err... how do I access this "trusted zone" in Netscape? I can't seem to find it...
Trusted Zone is an IE only thing, goto Options / Security in Internet Explorer to see it.

"There are other things that AOL software does. For instance, some software such as Netscape and ICQ 2000b will insert free.aol.com into Internet Explorer's "Trusted" security zone. When you put a web site in the "Trusted" zone, Internet Explorer will allow that site to download, install and execute any piece of software completely without interaction with the user."

Sounds exciting eh?

If they do that to IE, imagine the backdoors they have left themselves in their own browser! (Netscape)

You should contact the skin maker and see if he made a compatible skin, all it takes are a couple very minor changes from the old mozilla skin style to the new mozilla skin style.

Hmm...it appears I misread. It said that it wasn't compatible with Firebird versions .7 or later. Anyways, it works fine and looks pretty damn sexy! :p

Firefox IS Firebird, which started out as Pheonix. They have gone through multiple name changes, but the change to the Firefox name should be the last name change. Maybe the skin didnt work on Firebird (which was version 0.7 and earlier) but whatever issue it had was resolved in Firefox (0.8 and later).

Ill have to check out that skin.

Remember, skin incompatiblity could be a minor thing, maybe a scrollbar or button in a specific dialog doesnt work properly or any number of possible things. It may be that the skin has some odd behavior that you havent encounteded yet, or it could be that they just fixed whatever issue there was.

I find Opera gets cluttered and that in FireFox you can get an add on that automaticily opens everything in tapped windows. (Instead of right clicking) B)

Just use the middle mouse button (or press down on the wheel if you have one) to open things in tabs, it makes life much easier. (in Firefox that is).

Or you can hold CTRL as you press a link, that will do it also.
