Slackware inside Pandora.

Use in the searchfunction the words:

Sgx driver installer beta

I am interrested how latest Driver work on Slackware :)

Well, it's a matter of user's choice. I presume that this pnd works on Slack.

So Yesterday i installed very lately your Actual Version 3.
I am curious to Post this Evening the Error Messages.

My Linux Knowledge is not good, can you please explain what i have to do exactly to aolve that gksu Problem or sudo Problem?

When that work will i start again to compile Qemu Git and Wine Git :)

Thx for your hard Work Linux-Swat,i love your Slackware.

su -

slackpkg update

slackpkg install kde-runtime

slackpkg install kdelibs

ln -s /usr/bin/kdesu /usr/bin/gksu

If you want, you can write here what you do as a reminder, and also to entertain us ;p.

Oki doki :)

First i solved that gksu Problem with your Help.

I have downloaded the Qemu Passtrough Experimental Lib from Linuxbochs and searched

Xarchiver to extract this Zip File...and searched and searched.....

then renembered i this Gslapt Package Manager ,started it,updated it and found it not in there.

Hmm it was in previous slackware Versions in?

Ok then downloaded i Xarchiver and compiled it and installed it with this gksu(now kdesu)

Ah now have i a archiver Software to open what i want

Compiled his Branch and installed it.

Now i downloading the Qemu git ^_^

Edit: Wow Download Rates up to 455Kbs,the Slackware Version before had slower Speeds here

Edit: so configured with that Options:

./configure --prefix=/usr target-system-list=i386-softmmu,i386-linux-user --enable-sdl --disable-gtk --enable-guest-base

I notized that this Time this Version did not search opengl,it searched GLX and found.

now its making/compiling for the next Hours

Thx for that Hint :)
Btw: how do i mount my USB Sticks?it seem that Slackware dont automount them more.

I compiled Qemu and installed it,but all my Images are on Sticks.

Yes, i've noticed that the automount doesn't work.

You have to boot with the stick plugged in, or mount manually.

I didn't check it yet.

Yehaah Thx :)

I was silent last Days but another afraiding Thing ...

with Emacs Filemodifications got i LXDream to compile on Slackware.

There where Errors about "only glib.h can be included" or near.

I googled it and found that is a Error who can be often.

Then have i readed the Errors while make and modify the Files with Emacs.

But unfortunaly there is in LXDream the Error that GLX cannot open Display  :)

Now i am downloading the Wine GIT :)

Wine compiled fine.
Question:

When i have Wine on Arm and have the sourcecode from Sourceforge for Windows from Games....

...can i then compile them with Winemaker?
And using them as Arm Windows Binaries ?

When yes ist this a Door to thousands more Games on Pandora.

:)

Yes you can. That's what I have done with XMSol and Takaeda's emulator.

But (there is always a "but"), I have seen that performances of Wine itself are not very good, it's not very efficiant in many graphics (like simple blit for basinc windows) & sound (the DSound mixer code for example). I started optimising a few thing, but I'm not finished. You should start with non-action game.

Hi little Question:

How can u activate USB Networking in Slackware?

I want to use my Mouse on the USB OTG Port ;)

For usb networking, it depends.

For now, i had trouble using it with the network manager enabled and never really looked into how i can make both work together.

So i usually chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.networkmanager , uncomment modprobe g_cdc in /etc/rc.d/rc.local , and reboot.

For the mouse, well just activate usb should do it.

Cool i will try that after work :)
With Mouse can i faster work on Slackware :)

Edit:

modprobe g_cdc worked many THX ^_^

Slackware 14.1 x86 and ARM are now in beta state.

Some news:

I create one private test version per week since july, and i modified many parts of my build scripts to provide a better release quality along a fastest SD image generation.

I've also highly improved SOLEIL, but i'll report in its thread later.

As usual, new backend software means some regressions. Here's the current state:

-no internal wifi (module loading leads to errors, zaxxon kernel)

-no omapfb X driver (patches needed for new X version)

-can't compile a working custom kernel (maybe gcc 4.1 problem, 4.0 was known as problematic with ARM kernels)

-some reported minor bugs not investigated

Overall, it's a pleasure to run, stable as usual, the touchscreen bug is gone.

I'll upload a new image soon and let you know. Any help is welcome.
