Shortest newspost ever... for now!

I hope the pyra ships before the GPD WIN 2 (I would be tempted to buy one)
You know that in the end, you will want both... so start saving up money...

What do you expect to happen within 6 month?
Let's see...
Iphone 11 anounced, NOP buys a GPD Win 2, Bitcoin goes over 9000, Transformers 8, EA makes more money than anticipated. Sofia becomes conscious. The Pyra logo gets projected on the surface of the moon, together with "hack the planet".

and here is another guy, who is only able to understand ONE perspective of the Pareto principle.
You get 80% of <whatever thing or project> done/finished in 20% of the time. the last 20% need the other 80% of the time.
Most common conclusion is: produce it, when you reach the 80%.
but "this is Pyra", so we ("we" as "most of the community") want a 100% Pyra not a a 80% Pyra. So the interpretation of Pareto here is: At the point where the Pyra Prototype reached the 80%, expect that just 20% of the project time has passed.
@Zwerg01
If you can't live with that, go get an Apple product! But don't dishonor the hard work and patience of all the active developers and board members with comments like yours.

Also, "I'm in"

That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.

I would like my Pyra in The Great Old Ones green with an insane OS please <3

Hello, I'm a complete noob in using Linux, but wasn't convincing by GPD win.

Here I follow all posts since three months. I'm not pressed for time : Pyra project must be, as long as it takes, first criterion isn't money but quality and product's unique attributes.

Just one things I wanted to say : That smell good and also cheering and congratulations on Pyra's team !

Best wishes from France ! (as you guess with my bad English)

The Pandora was not dead after 3,5 years preorder, in my case.
To be fair, the Pandora didn't have anything that could even closely compare to it. While not identical there is a lot more overlap between the Pyra and the GPD Win to give some extra people pause. We know this because I remember people saying they couldn't wait anymore and got a Win. How many people aren't saying? How many people have completely forgotten the 400 they put down for it and, when reminded of their pre-order, will ask for a refund?

This makes me really nervous.

And I know quite a few customers of mine bought a Win but are still using the Pandora for most things - like classic gaming, emails, etc., as the Pandora is a lot better with that.

The Win is nice for PC gaming and some Windows-Specific stuff - but there are a lot of things the Pandora is still superior (optimized and preconfigured emulators and games, battery life, installing / uninstalling games, storage space, keyboard and gaming controls,

I also got my wife a Win as she uses the Pandora mostly for web and most websites are so bloated these days that the Pandora can't cope with them.
She tried, but changed back to the Pandora as the keyboard was unusable for her and the battery was empty when it was lying around in standby for 1 or 2 days.
She's now waiting for the Pyra as well :)

Yeah PC games and web browsing is what I use the win for, it replaced my potato laptop. But it's too slow for PSX and DS emulation and having to use a sensitive 128GB usb is a bit of a pain.

What is a game changer in favor of the win is steam out of the box...

Darn, my thingy broke and I came prematurely into need of a new phone. Why couldn't it go on for another Two Month (TM)? Why, oh why? :'(

Ordered a Moto G5 for 129,00 € - at least I was lucky enough, that it was Black Friday. Now, I need to get a nano-SIM-card, that's also for LTE. The Pyra wouldn't take nano-SIMs, too, by any chance?

CPW-MICRO-NANO-SIM-ADAPTER__1

I just use these, I've got too many different devices with different sizes at this point

Well, I told my provider (o2), I'd need a new SIM, and they then told me, that'd be no problem and it be 25€. Whoooot? A*****... ehem "not so nice guays"
Six years ago, something like that was free of charge. 25€ for a stupid chipcard, unbelievable.
I don't think, now, that I'll get an adapter with that - would rather be another 50€, I guess. *grml*

I don't know what provider you're using but I got my sim transferred for free with Telstra a while ago

o2 is the brand, Telefónica Germany the company.
Yeah, six years ago, when I needed a SIM update to be able to use UMTS, I got that new SIM for free.

At the moment I'm very unhappy with them. Right after I ordered the new SIM, an email arrived. It isn't entirely clear to me, but it seems to sugest, that my ordering a new SIM card is meant to be an adjustment of the contract, which then would establish a new 2-year minimum term.

I'll visit an o2 shop this week to ask, if it is so. Should the answer be "Yes", I'll ask next, what other provider they would recomment. Seriously, I've been a loyal customer for 18.5 years. I won't let that stand. The 25€ fee for the card they've got to counterbalance, too.

I miss the earlier days of that provider, when they treated contract customers like humans. Now coercion and brazenness are the new black it seems.

Sorry, a bit disgruntled I am.
