Money makes the world go round.

ah come one at least you smiled as you have seen this little girl ;)
Nope. I just find it annoying. There is no point. Keep doing this if you want, but do not assume that everyone likes it, especially in an official news thread.

Highly recommended: Die Errettung des Schönen by Byung-Chul Han. What's the connection between Brasilian Waxing, Jeff Koons, and the iPhone? I recommend it to anyone here who understands German and is interested in the effects of technology on society. Particularly recommended if you've never read any of Han's books before. The first chapter can be read for free at the previous link ("Leseprobe PDF").

I think the "Petition to have one topic at least stay on topic for once" would be more worthy
Huh? If you do want on-topic now, you can still contact me.

Ah oke, I haven't seen it from this point of view. I agree that an extensive use of memes in a news thread can be annoying.
I will reduce it.

More than anything I'm just worried about that hinge.

I know I know stop bringing up the fucking hinge, but its easily the ONLY thing about the Pandora I can't reconcile. It takes the device, with all the other flaws considered, from a perfect 10/10 to a 7-8/10. And it's clear ED loves having the pandy and the pyra in full travel so they are 180°, so it probably doesn't bother him. But it drives me crazy. Its one of those things -like the keyboard- where no matter how many updates we get about it until I have it in my hands I won't be certain they nailed it. All the other stuff is secondary if I can't just leave the thing open without it falling all the way back or slamming shut when I jostle it.

Can't wait to see how that turned out when I get mine.

I was also not a fan of the Pandora's hinge when I first discovered mine wouldn't stop at 160 degrees, or whatever stop my Nintendo handhelds have, and wouldn't stay put if I put it at that. But I got used to it, and even put my Nintendo handhelds on that stop now. It works especially well when I use the Pandora's keyboard, as I use a slightly different grip that swings the Pandora around and brings the screen to 90 degrees from my face just fine.

Also, ED designed the Pyra's hinge to be more firm than the Pandora's floppy hinge, so the screen should be able to stay at any angle, although I don't think that's actually been tested yet. I'm not sure what's stopping that test, so I'm a little concerned that I've not heard about it now you bring it up, but I hope ED hasn't been remiss in checking that in the various case builds he's receive thus far.

...wasn't this a news thread a few pages ago?

I'm just sorry for everyone who gets notifications whenever something is posted in the official news section. You should have known better. *turns off RSS Feed*

in the anime that is this forum... wait, do we actually represent all the stereotypes and tropes here??? oh no.

I'd be the 'clueless dumb brute' character who no-one gets along with. Would just need a couple more people as well as a school setting.
get ready for 4 whole seasons of loveshy, awkward situations that'll make two months feel like 4 years.

I thought we represented 'the exception to the rule'.

I know I certainly do.
We definitely represent the exception, but the reasons for it are different for each user.
I saw this when I found the first announcement of Pyra in Polish computer magazine's website. Most people posting comments seen Pyra as too expensive toy, recommending a laptop or smartphone. However, for many people who don't want smartphone or notebook there are many reasons for Pyra.
For someone it may be access to lots of games through emulator on a portable machine.
For some Admin, a nice handheld SSH tool for all-type diagnostics and administration.
For me, it may become useful as ultra-portable productivity tool like 200LX I was using since last year, with system security and transparency better than most modern handhelds. General "software freedom" is covered in this "security" too. Although I am not a Stallman's philosophy fan, I use GNU/Linux (not because it's a very good system but because it's less awful than modern Windows) and I think last years computer market got too far with limiting users. They try to stuff users with all things they couldn't stuff in 1990s, now with the power of social marketing. And because they set trends, they won't let users back decide.

You are the fur one of the forum

Seems to me there are actually a lot of furs within this community... I can't Say for certain because I try to avoid people getting personal with me online (or anywhere) and I'm not currently a part of the fandom - I haven't been for many many years.

And even though the fandom is quite diverse, I've never found any furs that can fully relate to me...
I may be classed as some kind of Otherkin for my strongly held spiritual beliefs, and I am also celibate for over a decade which seems to be a rarity in the fandom... or almost anywhere except for certain religious groups (and I follow no religion).

So even as a fur I am an exception to the rule.
