Here Is What Will Be Happening.

The hell? I come looking for more Pandora news and you guys are talking about Dracula and religion? :D

I'm just talking about Dracula talking about religion.

[csotn-001] Die Monster, you don't belong in this world.
[csotn-002] It was not by my hand that I am once again given flesh.
[csotn-003] I was called here by... humans... who wish to pay me tribute.
[csotn-004] Tribute?
[csotn-005] You steal men's souls, and make them your slaves!
[csotn-006] Perhaps the same can be said of all religion.
[csotn-007] Your words are as empty as your soul.
[csotn-008] Mankind ill needs a savior such as you...
[csotn-009] What is a man?
[csotn-010] A miserable little pile of secrets!
[csotn-011] But enough talk, have at you!

One day someone's going to say "sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" and another person is going to reply "cool story bro" and then I will burst into flames of pure hatred.

BTW, I share your concern.

what are you, some damn atheist hippie? oh, just saw your profile picture, that explains all...

@WizardStan: true, much wisdom comes from religion. all our beliefs and common morals of what is right and wrong come from the Torah, Bible and Qur'an (obviously with controversy though). you can learn quite a bit from the characters in these books.

So very, very close now!

lol, nope I have flawless taste in music, art, and literature. It's fictional books that stupid people misuse as excuse for genocide and war that I don't bother reading.

I HAVE played Castlevania though, and Alucard says that line at the end of the game, obviously quoting the Bible, after he defeats Dracula during the ending sequence.

Hmm, I have never seen the Bible used as an excuse for genocide and war. Sure, people abused their political positions (which is what the church leaders had really become right before the Reformation) but I'd like to see an instance of when the Bible was abused like that, if you can find one.

And just so you know, the Koran has caused far more genocide and war than the Bible could have. In fact, the crusades were a response to all the havoc the Muslims were causing (and unfortunately these crusades went downhill due to lack of planning and the greed of a number of the crusaders)

And on-topic:
GREEN LIGHT IS AWESOMESAUCE

Yes, you are correct. The blurry picture of me with long hair totally explains away all of my beliefs and opinions as "some damn atheist hippie".

And your ludicrous judgements based on a random blurry photo of my physical appearance don't say anything about you.

Also, you are spending a lot of money in good faith that a promised device will be eventually released by a team of geeks who also may have long hair and be "damn atheist hippies".

@WizardStan: I do see the trend of which you speak, and while the concern may be valid, in this case, I was simply keen to make the video game reference without giving extra thought to it's real source. Basically the mistake was more trying to increase my e-penis with a Castlevania reference, then trying to really decipher the origin of the quote.

Besides, if the quote itself (and therefore the wisdom it brings) is remembered, but not it's origin, at least that is better then forgetting the quote altogether.

@calc84maniac: I have good reasoning for my beliefs, and that isn't my only problem with Christianity, however, I'm not going to list it here, or argue it here, because as I specifically pointed out in my original post (and was quoted in the reply), I don't want to have a theological debate here.

though it's truly lamentable, I'm not SURE that it's a new phenomenon. I suspect that, mostly, we just got older... although, to be fair, the percentage of originality in our media does seem to have taken a nosedive in recent years.

As for bursting into flames - I wonder if that quote IS just an echo from someone else's 1942 story? ;) A cover of a cover of a cover...

The Bible is full of all sorts of good stuff. It's a shame it isn't read more widely, though it could possibly do with a good update, with laser blasters and stuff. It's a bit retro as-is.

Have you ever read Revelations? That shit is nuts. It was a specific style of writing, but John had problems.

One of my CS professors attributed Clarke's Third Law to Asimov. I was disappointed and docked him 50 nerd points. He made up for it by quoting Yoda and the Bene Geserit Litany Against Fear in a Lab assignment, though (the litany's file name was atreides.txt).

I've read a fair chunk of the Bible in my time, but not all at once. There's quite a lot of stuff that's... interesting for, perhaps, the wrong reasons. One of the problems with it is that you can find justification for almost any act, if you look hard enough for it :(

Asimov is for Robots though - EVERYONE knows that!

"Hello! Stay awhile and listen..."

Go go Deckard Cain!

There's an idea, lets bug Blizzard for an ARM port of Diablo II.

I know there's an Opensource Diablo clone, but there's only one Diablo II.
