Hey. Could someone explain me why the emulator freezes all the time on 'LOADING GAME WITH HLE ENABLE' when selecting the game??
These are compressed ISO using MagicISO and PocketISO20...I am not sure to understand what i am doing wrong. Thanks.

use .bin/.cue...

RTFM! =p HLE EMULATION ISN'T WORKING

I got FF7 to boot and the intro screens to run at a half-decent speed, unfortunately I had to rip the videos out to make it fit on my old SD card so when it hits the intro video it crashes. I'm getting a 1gig card soon though, can't wait to play it!

You're right, saves aren't working in FF7. Since FF7 is the game to get working right now, I suppose I'll be busy today getting that fixed. djchk gets the award for keeping the thread on topic. ;P

It seems the timings are off still, in v0.34c. It's just a matter of time before I find a good combination that works with stupid SIO (Serial IO, aka those memory cards). I could make the emulator even faster, but everytime I do so, SIO complains in games about there being a memory card issue or crashes. Save states sure look attractive now. ;P

In other news...Unai is hard at work with GPU optimizations, and AntiPasta sent me some assembly code to work with. Hopefully by this weekend some of their work will be put into a release. :)

Is any else getting an error with 0.34c about memory cards not found?
FFV VI & Chrono trigger all boot OK (read slowly) then hang on memory card for about 3 minutes, then ask if I want to continue anyways.

0.33 worked. Thanks

zodttd, was wonderin, have u considered porting this emulator for the PSP? i knw that the processor can be clocked to its orignal speed, which is 333mhz, and im sure psp users (such as myself :) ) would be so grateful for this to be ported onto it

<_< , firstly i think that the zottd emu must works fine in gp2x, also, if zottd and colaborers wants to include Assembly code in gp2x will by more difficult port it to other platforms. un saludo

A little update on things...
It seems some games, Squaresoft ones in particular, really didn't like the timing changes made when it comes to loading/saving to the memory cards. So I'm working on balancing compatibility and performance now.
I got HLE working again. But before I release a version with HLE enabled I'm going to double check if games that would only after I disabled HLE, will still work.

Estopero, yes you are correct. By using assembly I limit the emulator to that particular CPU, in this case ARM (which all my ports of PSX have used so far). Though, if I ever go off the ARM route, I could use assembly for that processor, or just revert back to C code. No biggie there.

judge0, I'll try my best to get those games working in the next release, which will hopefully be later today.

awesome, i notice on the file archive there is no 34c, is that the new version you are talking about?

also zodttd, dont worry about getting memory cards to work, seriously, work on the speed as priority, and then try and fix the memory cards, or even better, save states!

just tried Crash Bandicoot 2 (PAL) again with 34c, the bug where the screen is split (image a page or two back) appears to have been fixed, well done :)

For a linux user, you don't seem very... knowledged.

http://linuxreviews.org/howtos/cdrecording/

It took me 15 seconds to find that, and I just entered in Google "rip cds .bin in linux"...

Oops... thanks... I was trying this a few days ago, and gave up with 'cdrdao scanbus' not finding my cd drive, but today it worked straight away... thanks for pointing me in the correct direction, again... I guess i should have persisted a little more before giving in and posting here ;)

its official, Resident Evil 2 is /ALMOST/ playable with 34c, overclocked to 250mhz, no sound or music, FS default (0-1?)

you can almost run around full speed and blast away zombies :)

Will you stop doing that? It's quite infuriating.

Great work on the PSX emulator, zodttd! It's amazing what you've been able to do with the hardware and the frankly unhelpful company behind it :)
