[greps through old nodelist]... so that's Test Drive BBS, then?
That would be right, on Steve Birds TestDrive, the man responsible for getting me addicted to the Amiga and Comms in genral..

I think quite a few people around here are/were on fido. EvilDragon said on another thread that he's still running a fidonet mailbox from his A4000. Skeezix ran a BBS and was on fido too. I just ran a point off my friend Mark's node 2:253/419 (Undocumented Feature). The software was fantastic, really. TrapDoor and Spot were my tools of choice. I'll never forget the sense of community we had on fidonet - yes, the flames were unsurpassed, but at least they tended to be intelligent. The internet (well, especially usenet) felt so cold after I left fido. At least some forums like this are around now where we can spend a bit of time sharing our hobbies
Good to know that there are other people still using FidoNet, it was a shame when I had to give it all up. Saying that I'm sure it's still at Mums place!
TrapDoor and Spot, so you were using MUI then?
Well for Spot anyway. Nico Francois (sp?) was one good programmer, wonder if he has a GP2x.....
I used to use TrapDoor and Foozle, old and worn out, but I loved it.
As you say, the Usenet wasn't that welcoming at all. Shame really...
People used to flame the hell out of me for using the Fido style of replying

Still do it in emails, although less so on boards.
Finding little cubby holes like this on the net more than makes up for it though!
So, how long before we're able to use TrapDoor and Spot on UAE4all?
