Uae4all Amiga Emulator Port To Gp2x

sneech still doesnt work.

This is the first I've heard of it. Things won't get magically fixed if people don't:

1) add compatibility entries to the wiki
2) provide useful descriptions of how it fails

EDIT: I just downloaded and tried sneech. It does work - you just have to set the Emu Bias to the first stop. This tends to be the most compatible setting, although it can be the slowest too. The game's quite slow and unresponsive at 200MHz, but might improve at higher clockspeeds.

EDIT2: I've added a wiki compatibility entry for it now.

will do, i think it just crashes after the big mustachioed face pops up.

but i'll check tonight.

btw, spot on work. When Colonization is playable, ( another one i'll add ) my life will be complete.

Ooo, and Jesus on E's.....it appears i have some wiki'ing to do :D

It works fine with the emu bias set fully to CPU (see edits above).

Colonization uses workbench, which typically (maybe always?) needs the emu bias set fully to CPU. I've just downloaded it, and it created a new world (never a quick operation). Playing without multiple drive support is a bit annoying at the start (a few disk swaps), mouse acceleration would be very useful, but apart from that, it's a go-er, I'd say. I'll wiki it myself since I'm in the mood.

Oooo, JoE now there's something I need to try!
Off to check the Wiki first, then see if I have it with me :)

Now, where did I put my RSI Demo Maker.....

Will through a potato to the pot too... I would love Fury of the Furries, which will need speed up (as most games) but it also has gfx totally mixed up and crashes in a few seconds in the first level. Yet I have not tried any other version, so I had better do that.

Exceedingly unlikely that Jesus on E's will work. Make sure you're using the patched for non-AGA version (obviously), but even then, it needed two disk drives, which aren't (currently) supported.

That makes sense, I have a feeling RSI Demo Maker was somthing that "hit the hardware" so I've a feeling that won't work either, but once I've tried I'll add it to the Wiki.
Still, will look forward to the time I get to hear the dulcet tones of Rolf in JoE :)

I remembered someone asking about SOS before, and checked back in the thread, and it turns out it was you

hmmm nope, its the first time i'm asking it!

and,whitefalcon,if i had the console(thus the emu)i wouldn't asked it,don't you think? ;)

i have ordered a gp2x two days ago.when it will arrive,i'll test any (maybe all)amiga games i have, and since i am really a big fan of amiga(yes, you're right)i could say if there's something wrong on it or don't.i also know a little bit of programmation for amiga emus,so if i found something that could help you,i'tell you as soon as i can

It is the second time you asked on this thread. The first was here:
http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showt...04&#entry357004

Not that it matters particularly - I put a smiley by my comment previously for that reason.

I hope your gp2x arrives and that you have fun playing with all the good stuff there is to run on the console :)

yep you're right... :p

i can't help...its the age..i'm getting old.. and my memory is not the same as 10 years ago...

Hey critical great work on this emu. As alot of people here the amiga was my childhood and im begging you, i will even give you my soul, if you are able to get this running sensible world of soccer at a good speed. with the updated version of sensi on the ps2 almost upon us i am dying to play the old classic as i know the new version will most likely shatter my heart lol. anyway enough of my babbling just wanna give a big thumbs up to this project its one of the main reasons i purchased a gp32x. thank you

it is nice to see that there are so many Amiga enthusiasts on this forum. It seems to me that the amiga has provoked more enjoyment than any other gaming system. Why is it that this computer is that much about passion? Is it the fantastic sound chip that made the difference?

do you know what chaos? i think you are absolutely right. Recently i have been playing around with castaway i have never played an atari st before owning my gp32x. And i must admit there isn't alot to compare with the 2 except the sound i felt somewhat empty playing turrican 2 on the castaway as the sound wasn't half as good as the music on the amiga and where was the powerup voices. Still now critical is on the case we will no longer have that problem, well all going as hoped.

If your gp2x will clock to 275MHz, it's not too bad (at least without sound, fs2, bias full CPU). Obviously that's a bit of a crazy overclock, so hopefully I'll be able to work on the graphics rendering next month.

I was running an old version of this emulator and happily, playing Project X until I recently upgraded to 0.4.2 and now don't seem to be able to skip the "cracked by" screen at the start. I can't remember what key it is, but have tried the usual mouse clicks etc, did the control system subtly change?

Once you are in-game, you can't see the very top or bottom of the Project X screen, meaning the scores and most importantly the powerups aren't visible. Perhaps some hardware scaling could eventually be implemented (easily switched on and off by shoulder buttons or something for quick checking of powerup status & score in-game)? I don't have many Amiga ROMs, but is this an issue on other games?

This emulator is AMAZING though, I am sooo impressed and it was the main reason I bought a GP2X at all, as Amiga was the only thing I wished the GP32 could handle...

Do you accept donations Critical? I'll definately make a contribution if it will help your progress. I'm not a coder, but I can help with splash screen / icon / menu / keyboard graphics if you like as I'm a graphic designer and would be happy to help...

Yes, there's mouse emulation mode now. You cycle between modes using the Start button (you'll see my lousy graphics when you hold down the button). I imagine the crack screen can be skipped using the left mouse button, so hit Start, hit L, then hit start twice more to get back to joystick input mode.

The wiki (http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/UAE4all) has all of the controls info.

It can be for games that use overscan (Settlers is an example). Screen positioning / scaling needs implementing at some point to ease this.

I can see the score line using uae4all gp2x version 0.4.3, Project X cracked by Nemesis when I've got the status line hidden. I can't see the powerup status though... we've run out of vertical pixels. Looking at it in WinUAE confirms this to be the case. It's on the TODO list, anyway.

The menu will need jazzing up at some point, but I'm busy with other things at the moment (functionality), so can't really provide you with a framework to work in for that yet. I'll certainly give you a shout when the time comes... presumably it should be skinnable like some of the other emus. Donations gratefully received via paypal to:

I know what you mean. Games like lemmings just do not seem right with the wonderful music and the classic "oh no" scream just before all your lemmings are nuked and sound like a popcorn machine.

Torturing lemmings was like a sport in my house. :D

I've done some work to get Fury of the Furries working better.

The initial graphics issues were, as I suspected, due to use of EHB/HAM. I implemented support for both, and I tried Fury again with a lot better success. There are still glitches during gameplay, however (probably due to my rather cavalier merging of HAM/EHB code from e-uae).

I'll be working on it more later, hopefully.
