The Caring Corner :)

Great news. I didn’t need a referral to see an orthopedic specialist after all. I now have an appointment with OrthoCarolina on the 27th. Assuming they do the biopsy that day, I could have the results during my vacation on the first week of October.

With under one week to go until his biopsy, can JD stop posting about foot cancer? Probably not.

I gotta admit, I’ve already begun reading the cancer subreddit. Why am I doing this to myself?

This page says the majority of benign bone tumors happen in people under age 30:
It also says most tumors that start in the bone are benign. I wonder if “start in the bone” means they’re not including metastases.

At least you don't have to worry about running out of potential illnesses ;)

Waiting can be excruciating so why not think about a bucket list and have all the things you still want to do while you're still alive, you might even be able to check some of them off while waiting this week.

A random link about how to create one, it didn't look too good so you might want to add "how to create a bucket list" to your list and maybe post your learning on the forums: https://trulyexperiences.com/blog/how-to-make-a-bucket-list/

It also looks like you somewhat use the forum as a diary, you might want to have a written one as you can later read it when your hopefully very very old but can still read.
Keeping charts on paper for your temperature is also somewhat fun to do, obviously easier to do when using graph paper instead of regular paper (a ruler can help there).

Asleep before seven, up at ten, I’m ready to spend all night googling cancer statistics. I still gotta predict where my primary tumor is. If I’m incredibly lucky, the bump on my foot is the primary tumor. I don’t feel incredibly lucky.

Pulse is 85 bpm right now. Has me a bit worried, actually. It’s usually over 100. I’ve made a post like this before. I don’t like unexplained changes in my health, even good ones.

I think part of it may be that I’m not digesting any food right now. It was over 130 earlier when I ate two medium pizzas. Is it bad that the 85 worries me more than the 130? Also, is it bad to eat two medium pizzas? It was my only meal of the day yesterday. I didn’t even eat anything on Monday. I go grocery shopping today.

Shoot, after getting my morning meds, I slept for over three and a half hours. I’m debating skipping my laundry. I’ll still go grocery shopping, I think.

That’s the problem with my meds too. I only sleep directly after I take them. Meaning I wake up before midnight at night, and usually nap for three hours in the morning. I know which one is causing it too. It’s the Klonopin. It’s one of only two meds I take both morning and night. The other is Invega.

I didn’t make it to the grocery store, and I’m probably not going out with my family tonight. I think it’s for the best; I can’t afford to get COVID before my orthopedic appointment on Tuesday.

If Klonopin makes you sleep, then it might be best to schedule a morning sleep. Something like wake at 6am, , stay awake till 9am, take pill, sleep until midday, stay awake until 11pm, take pill and be asleep by midnight to wake again at 6am. 9 hours a day is longer than I sleep for, but I think you need a little more time asleep if you split it up. If you wake before 6am or 12pm that's fine just see if you can stretch out until 9am/11pm.

Nauseous again. Coffee may be the culprit. Peeing and drinking water helped a little.

And yeah, I’m up at 3 AM. Been up since about 1:30 actually.

Still trying to guess where my primary tumor is. Ever since I overcame my constipation, I have no symptoms of colon cancer. I thought I might’ve had breast cancer earlier this year, but they told me it was gynecomastia. Hmmm, maybe prostate? I’ve never had that checked.

I’m gonna look kinda silly if the bump in my foot is the primary tumor.

I was looking at the dermatologist’s notes in the patient portal for more clues. It says unspecified neoplasm of bone, muscle, and skin. It also says patient was instructed to see a podiatrist or orthopedic foot specialist for evaluation. Finally, it says they billed $270 for it. $270 just to look at it and tell me to see an orthopedic specialist, not even give me an official referral. I guess it could have been worse. Not like I’m the one paying for it.

I was too nauseous to drink coffee just now. Pulse, oxygen, and temperature are fine. There’s just one thing: my nose is stuffy. I think maybe the Omicron finally got me. No way to tell.

Help me. It’s half past midnight, and I was ready to go back to bed, but then I drank two large cups of coffee, because I hate myself. I’ve already seen all the info Google has to offer about foot metastasis. It’s just not that common. If I really do have it, I’ll probably get to be part of the medical literature. To be fair though, bone tumors in the foot in people over age 30 just aren’t all that common either, so there’s no telling what I have.

I saw the trailer for Smile, and it had me a little spooked, but I think I’m over it now.

Remember, if anyone won’t stop smiling at you, just punch them in the teeth or something.

Just took a four hour power nap. Can’t wait to be up all night.
Good sleep comes with a good routine I would guess. Go to bed at the same at a fixed time and also get up at the a fixed time. I think an iPhone has a feature for helping you with that in the Clock-app, possibly other phones have similar features (I haven't used it myself btw.).
Getting into a healthy routine usually starts with having some dreams and goals to work to which can give meaning to your life. When you have a safe space, food and drinks there is less motivation to change things (luxury position I guess).
If that doesn't work for you some people turn to religion to find a goal, having a parental figure that takes care of you and observes your behavior is sometimes the motivation people need to keep up a good routine; and religion usually comes with a social group.
