Which should make you wonder, how bad the symptoms must had been they no longer have due to the medication.
Many of the people I know carefully reduced their medication, so in these cases I knew for sure how bad the symptoms without some of their medication would be. And even before someone has done that, he can still compare the symptoms for which he initially started taking meds with the side-effects that he currently has to get an idea of whether the meds really improved his life.

Because meds themselve sicken the body it is usual for people on meds to eventually get symptoms that were worse than the symptoms they started taking meds for. Sometimes it takes a few decades for that to happen, but meds are usually a lifetime subscription, so taking them for decades is common.

It sounds terrible to me, epidemic or not. Anhedonia takes the fun out of life.
Besides, if you have anhedonia then you are almost guaranteed to have other issues as well.

I get it though, the different parts of the body are so tightly connected that it is difficult to just have one part of it be in a malfunctioning state without the rest following suit. As a result, medical conditions often work as is described in Matthew 13:12: "Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them."

My dad had to buy me about $30 worth of groceries yesterday, because I ran out, and I really didn't wanna take my vaccine booster on Wednesday on an empty stomach. Now I gotta pay him back $30 on Wednesday evening though, plus spend around $25 on our evening out. That'll only leave me $20 to waste on gambling. :(

You might be wondering why I gamble if I have anhedonia. It's a Rexulti thing, apparently. Also Abilify, which I was on a few years ago.

You know, despite the anhedonia and depression, I smile a lot. Apparently there's this side effect of Klonopin called emotional lability which could explain that.

I'm not sure how healthy it is to ascribe parts of your personality to drugs you may have been given. Maybe it's just part of who you are at the end of it all.
Maybe, maybe not but still quite likely given that personality has to do with thought processes, which can be altered by pharmaceuticals in different ways...

My blood pressure was 165 over 111 at the psych's office today. With just a little more work, I bet I could have a hypertensive crisis. :p

They say I might I start taking my night meds later to help me sleep at night better.

Patient: "The voices are telling me to kill."
Null: "Have you considered befriending them?"

I do like how they say the voices were nicer in 1930s America than they are now.
