Your behaviour is that of an animal, tiresome and predictable.
This applies to everyone here.

You are broken.
I thought most humans in developed countries had moved beyond this way of looking at others...  I guess diversity is not acceptable for some.

In case people aren't aware, humans ARE apes.  They interact and communicate like other apes. I started to describe the origins of the modern interpretation of zombies as described by the person who popularised it, but since it can be a bit more open to other interpretations which might be controversial I will skip it.  Both of these ways of looking at humans should be used as a mirror.

As for the kind comment about those with autism being "broken" etc..I guess I'm broken too then, seeing as I have autism. I'd ask for glue, but I'm rather content with who I am, thank you :p
I am self-admittedly broken in many different ways.  They are a part of me, and I would only want to patch up a couple that make physically moving around difficult, or that severely bother my (non-genetic) family.

On topic a bit, I found a new way to look at the universe.  New for me, at least.  It delves into well trodden territory, but the underlying ideas are fairly recent due to data from astronomers and physicists and such.  This thread isn't the place for it, but it should be fun.  Maybe Lolla, Strigoi or others might like it.

I'll have you know I'm a GREAT ape!
Yes, but it is focusing on things like this that leads to problems when interacting with others, especially since there are other connotations for the word "great".  :p

On the other hand, for example I've got a kind of running gag with a guy, sometimes when we see each other we yell each others names and hug each other. I find that pretty funny, although it alienates lots of people ("Is he gay?", "Is he crazy?"), so I do it, sometimes.
This is a perfect example of what I mean.  To me this is not uncommon.  I have friends and family that do this.  I can't stand loud people in public, or being touched.  They know not to do this with me.  Some of these people do this because this is how they have always interacted with people.  For others it is to add a dramatic touch, and they often go far beyond this.  This type of social interaction is based on others, in this case the people involved are in agreement that it is acceptable.  If people outside of those directly involved have a reaction it is based on their own backgrounds and experiences.
Just for the record, I would never do this seriously. :)I'm usually pretty quite and part of why it seems funny to me is probably just because it's so contrary to my usual behavior. This is quite the opposite to what some in your family seem to be doing.

But on the other hand I know both quiet and loud people and I like both and what sometimes really annoys me is when one group just generally dislikes the other because of this attribute. It doesn't make anybody a better or worse human just because they like to yell the names of people they like or because they are quite and not answer you if you try to speak to them at the wrong time. Both have the same insecurities and problems, they just cope with them in different ways. Both sadly seem to involve alcohol pretty often.

Oh, just fuck all those negative feelings (towards humans. I'm fine with negative feelings against, say, attitudes). Why can't just everyone like humans? I have yet to get to know one which is just genuinely not-likeable. Usually when I don't like someone too much it's just because /they/ don't like too many people.

It's really annoying when you like two people and they are both nice, but they both think the other is <...> and don't speak with each other.

You probably never met rapists, mafia people, heavy drug dealers, robbers and true psychopaths etc... Good for you. I grew up with knowing such people better than I'd ever want.

Yes, there are people who are bad to the bone, more than you probably can imagine and these are often the ones people like most at first sight.

I should have excluded those more clearly who themselves don't share this/my attitude of liking others and doing them good. I was thinking too much in my own social context. I.e. overall mostly smart people who are at least lower middle class. Those who have real problems move in a different crowd.

Spill the beans then. :)

Yeah, sorry, I should clarify that I made a slight joke there. The joke might not even be obvious to non-native english speakers. The Great Apes are a taxonomic groups that consists of chimps, gorillas, orangutans and humans, so biologically I am a great ape. I chose to capitalise the GREAT because the word has other meanings, thus is a (non-sexual) double-entendre.
I'm not sure that feeling good about yourself has any long-term negative connotations in social circles, assuming that's the other meaning you infer from 'great', but I'm no expert.

This is quite the opposite to what some in your family seem to be doing.
It was somewhat embarrassing for me when I was quite young, since I still didn't like attention and being hugged and kissed and such.  Maybe they did it to make me uncomfortable.  I remember I used to get hugged and squished and I couldn't escape and would get lots of kisses and stuff.

Both sadly seem to involve alcohol pretty often.
Odd that you pointed this out and I had never considered it before.  The loud and physical people I mentioned are/were not drinkers, nor were they really into anything of the sort.  I lived with a few of them, so I would(?) have noticed this stuff.  Some smoked cigarettes, but that is about it.

Why can't just everyone like humans?
Because they can't live in harmony with the world around them.  They are destructive, and don't care about anything but themselves or those like them.  Strictly predatory animals are less harmful to the world and other lives than humans.

I have yet to get to know one which is just genuinely not-likeable.
Come visit me and spend some time in public.  If you interact with others expect some of the friendliest people you have ever known.  There are also those that might interact with you if required, but they generally don't like anyone who doesn't do, think and act just like them.  I think I have more respect for those who make their hateful ways known than those who are friendly to your face, but have nothing but ill will toward you when your back is turned.  Then there are those who may be the worst; they have no negative feelings for others, but simply think certain others are inferior by virtue of the gender or lineage (amongst a long list of many other things), and don't notice that this view influences how they treat those people, and how those people are treated by others, or how they feel and think about themselves.

Usually when I don't like someone too much it's just because /they/ don't like too many people.

These types of people don't generally advertise these things.  You might be surprised if you knew everyone's secrets.  I am thinking that your crowd might be the perfect place to find some of these people.  Actually, based on your focus, it might surprise you to learn that there is a good possibility that wealthy, successful, intelligent people are more likely to be psychopathic, especially those that don't come from money.  They have the perfect set of traits to "make it" in the world.

I don't want you to feel like I am trying to argue with, or attack, you.  We have all had different experiences, and we all have different opinions.

Not here.  It would require a little bit of explaining of some things, and a little research or reading on your part.

Yeah, sorry, I should clarify that I made a slight joke there. The joke might not even be obvious to non-native english speakers.
I played along and didn't really clear it up.  I just ruined the joke and made everyone sad.  Sorry anyone I left out, or those that liked the joke until I replied.

It was until you said that... :p

I'm not sure that feeling good about yourself has any long-term negative connotations in social circles, assuming that's the other meaning you infer from 'great', but I'm no expert.
I was trying to extend the racism/sexism/etc. that I brought up earlier in this post while replying to T4b, to other species, and that "great" apes might try to use this label as justification for their higher status when interacting with other species.  At particular risk of oppression are lesser apes, since it might be assumed that they are inferior since they are "lesser".  Much worse has been done because of much less.  I didn't think it was much of a stretch, but it is overly complicated.  It made sense in my head.

You haven't made me sad, therefore you haven't made everyone sad. I don't know if anyone else even noticed I'd made a joke, so I wouldn't worry about it.

But yeah, speciesism is a problem, even to a purely self-interested degree, in that we've caused the extinction of species that might have carried DNA that would be useful in curing human diseases in the near future. Then there's all the vivisection crap, but honestly that's probably not the best argument for this thread. The caring corner extends to all species, not just humans, hominids, other apes, mammals of even animalia. But mostly we focus on humans here :)

I understood the joke from the beginning, but I didn't know there was also some sexual meaning in those words... and actually I fear googling "great apes sex" to find it out o_O

It was a joke, hence the  :p

You can take it down the perv road, but I don't think most people would see it without trying, or being spoon fed the innuendo.

But yeah, speciesism is a problem
I agree, if that wasn't made obvious long ago.  I am surprised to find so many here that would even think about organisms other than humans, their pets, and those they can use or consume.  I don't want this conversation to continue in this direction, as the thread is for other purposes, but I find it pretty cool that some care that much.

Edit:  I know it isn't really a big deal, but the r in rygD is lowercase.

I know that feeling. But I wouldn't think any of this was every meant in a bad way. I just didn't like it as a child, and when I showed this they stopped. But for me that actually changed, I now think physical contact is actually a very nice way to show you care.

Both sadly seem to involve alcohol pretty often.

I don't really fit in with any group I know, so I move in quite varying circles. Some seem more loud and superficial at first glance, some more nerdy and strange, some quiet, everyone different (I like most of them), but still lots of them seem to drink. Not everyone, of course. But quite a large portion of very different young people do. And as far as I can judge quite some of them do because they have problems and alcohol helps them forget everyday live and just have a nice time for a while.I also know some who do some other drugs besides alcohol (no hard ones as far as I know, thankfully, although I guess with some of them there is some chance of them slipping into dangerous territory) and the reasoning seems to be similar, it helps them relax and be happy despite their problems.

Why can't just everyone like humans?
Because they can't live in harmony with the world around them. They are destructive, and don't care about anything but themselves or those like them. Strictly predatory animals are less harmful to the world and other lives than humans.
Pretty much, but aren't all humans alike? Aren't humans like animals like plants like planets? If more people shared that attitude they would be nicer to each other.

I have yet to get to know one which is just genuinely not-likeable.

This is interesting. This may be a cultural thing, I've heard before Americans tend to be more friendly at first. When I look around in my surroundings, I know more people who aren't really friendly at first glance but can be very friendly when you get to know them than the other way round.

It may also be because /somehow/ I seem to be pretty well respected in my school, which is the most important place for social contacts for me. Maybe I'm just naive and they gossip behind my back about me like they do about each other, but somehow I don't have that impression.

Usually when I don't like someone too much it's just because /they/ don't like too many people.
Are you saying that you dislike people who dislike people?
Pretty much. Although I try to dislike them less than they dislike others or me, to avoid spirals of stronger and stronger disliking.

I have yet to get to know one which is just genuinely not-likeable.

Well, possibly I'm just instinctively avoiding this kind of people. I know there are some who might toy with neo-nazism, some who have some pretty much unacceptable premises to life, some who might be bad-crazy.But still I'm entirely convinced that no one I've ever talked to for more than a few minutes is entirely bad, they all have good, likeable traits. Enough of them that even if they turned out to be mass-murdering psychopath rapists (hypothetically, with the definite knowledge of them being like this, no practical considerations) I wouldn't want them killed.

I am getting irritated by all the issues I am encountering while trying to reply.  You get short answers.

Pretty much, but aren't all humans alike? Aren't humans like animals like plants like planets?
I agree, all living things I know of seem more alike than different.  Many humans focus on differences though, not similarities.

If more people shared that attitude they would be nicer to each other.
A change in attitude/understanding/view is a good start, but much more needs to be done to achieve that goal of  everyone being "nicer".

This is interesting. This may be a cultural thing, I've heard before Americans tend to be more friendly at first.
In general I would say Americans are much the same as any other nationality.  It depends of many factors, but the key piece here is that there is a large group of people that have been indoctrinated with the same stuff, which produces a whole rainbow of hate and oppression.  Not all of them are like those described, but there are enough that it makes some people uncomfortable (and I grew up in an area not too far away).

Pretty much. Although I try to dislike them less than they dislike others or me, to avoid spirals of stronger and stronger disliking.
So you dislike disliking people who dislike others more than they dislike those they dislike.  Got it!

I will stop replying there so I don't bring too much from other corners over here.
