Surprise Attack!

Rayman (Yes, you can play the original Rayman on your Pandora)
Rayman has received ports to all platforms+3. Last time I really tried it in DOSBox on the Pandora was years ago when I first got it... and well it didn't run quite fullspeed.
There's a good chance that a GHz Pandora and optimized builds nowadays can manage it, but if you want to save time setting up and installing, the PS1 version runs perfectly. Rayman 2's PS1 version also runs damn fine.

...I kinda miss them. The newer 2D titles were good games, but it's still not quite the same. Oh well.

I thought it would be evident (from my lamenting the Windows-only nature of some of my Sim* and Incredible Toon Machine games) that I only play what I legitimately own. I don't own Rayman for PS1 and my budget is already more than occupied with tracking down SNES/N64/GB/GBA cartridges and PC/PSX/PS2 CD/DVDs for games I don't own. I can't justify re-buying something at pre-digital-download prices just so I can play it ideally on the go. (It'll be hard enough growing my budget to afford things like the first Tomba.)

We really need a shop for legally buying DRM free ROMs and ISOs for fair prices.
Unfortunately, the rights holders rather let it be pirated.

This is just bullshit:

But oh so typically Japanese. Do you know why so many PC ports of Japanese console games are terrible?
  1. In general, Japanese developers are control freaks and won't let foreigners have access to their precious source code. (It's a cultural thing)
  2. In Japan, they don't see the PC as a gaming platform (except for porn games)
  3. Because they don't see the PC as a gaming platform, there's no reason to get experience writing games for it properly.

The wandering Pyra sounds like a great way to have a lot of showcase videos for many use cases !

ED said the wandering Pyra would only be for preorderers (not tech journalists, unless they have preordered), so as i mentioned before he already has a deposit...

I don't find the wandering Pyra idea worth it. Besides the risk of someone keeping the Pyra and not sending it, there's the privacy risk of disclosing your postal address to a random stranger. disclosing it to ED may be necessary for buying such a device (temporarily, of course, just until it is so popular that you can buy one at supermarkets :p) but disclosing it to a preorderer is an unnecessary risk for the benefit of just having a prototype a couple of days which you might be busy and not be able to test it much anyway, since you can't choose the days. Also, it's a 700 EUR parcel. There's always some risk of lost packages or postal problems, so no need to plan for double the shippings that are needed. For those outside the EU there might also be some kind of problem with customs. If we restrict the wandering Pyra to the EU I'd find it a little discriminatory.
For me it's too much trouble for what is worth. But, I guess it was going to be optional anyway, so I can't oppose others opting in if ED finally decided to do it.

P.S. Great news the early prototypes. I hope all tests will go fine, and production is close. \o/:happy::)

As for the theft risk, couldn't ED just use the preorder money as pant?

Eureka!!!! Send it to prometheus. If that don't entice her back then that girls trippin!! :)
Ok, send it to me...:)

I don't know where else to ask about this, I've searched the forum but couldn't find anything, so I'll ask here.
Is there any possibility of Mini Windows XP to be able to run or be emulated on the Pyra?
Mini Windows XP is a stripped down version of the OS that purportedly runs extremely fast on low-end machines and handheld devices.

The wandering Pyra is a nice idea.
Maybe add Gernot to the list? It would be nice to have GLBasic outputting to Pyra from the very start.

Yeah, why not let the community put in votes for stations on the way.
My vote would go to _wb_. Would be nice if it gave us a pyra system info earlier.

after reading this, im more convinced that they will be on our doorstep by march of next year. Christmas would be amazing but march is my gut feeling and im happy as heck about it. it just seems to me that this is going way smother than the pandora and with way more info givin to us this time around makes me know i made the right choice and preordered when i did

Wandering Pyra is a nice idea to actually get a feel for it before it is ready.

Like many said though things can go wrong in transport. Especially crossing the ocean and coming all the way here in Canada (Although i do order things oversee all the time without problems except a couple days through customs).

Probably best if it tour of Europe and neighbours and then towards the American continent but by the time it gets here the finished product could be ready to ship already :p

What would be cool though after the fact is having a map with an itinerary of all the places that Pyra "visited" and maybe some local pictures too. I know its been done before but its a nice concept
Should be doable if tracking numbers are used throughout the whole trip and sent to ED every time.
And a thread can be made to share pictures with the Pyra and possibly some interesting local landmarks
