Looking at the Thunderbird screenshot I wonder if it would be possible to encrypt at least the home directory ?

Unfortunatly it did not have a lot of time to play around with it (or the Pandora at all) - damn you Mister George R.R. Martin !- but the more I use it the more I wonder why this is not the main distribution for the Pandora.

Having said that there is something I have to complain about:

Is there a distribution/repository system for binaries like in Debian/OpenSuse for Slackware ? Quite unconformtable to browse through an "endless" list - especially if the filenames aren't that self-explanatory

Edit: Is an upgrade from rc2 to rc3 needed and how to do it ?

I never played with encryption. Should be easy.

Yup, Slack is great.

Are you looking for this:

http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.0/

Well there's some tools, like slackpkg or maybe slacktrack.

May be possible to point out the SL4P repo.

It's not an upgrade.

So i added a green "check" near the Xfce menu. See previous pictures, number 4.

After having mounted your SD, click on it to read your .pnd.

I don't know why, some games are also displayed in the System menu. Never happened before.

I also added an autologin option at the first boot.

I think there's no remaining bugs. I now focus on usability stuff.

I haven't tested yet if it works, but the easiest solution could be to use the Truecrypt PND from the repo.

If this does not work, maybe Truecrypt is already available for SL4P as a package to be installed?

I would create a Truecrypt container inside the home directory, This will be mounted by Truecrypt to something like /media/truecrypt, and there you can store the files to be protected.

Maybe a symbolic link from /home/[your_username]/encrypted to /media/truecrypt will serv for your convenience, so that you can direct all applications to sub directory "encrypted" of your home.

Truecrypt also includes a command line interface, so you can embed it into your scripts. Using zenity or yad, you could probably even bind it to your login procedure, asking for the volumne password on login and right away mounting it. Unmounting on logout maybe. That way, you would always have your data available without hassles, once you are logged in, but whenever logged out or shut down, your data is safe.

I compiled truecrypt and it's dependencies, and added them to the 14.0 repo.

I'm not sure that this version comes with a GUI.

Good news is that this is the latest release. The OP version is unfortunately very old (for a security app).

A Pandora User from the German Forum asked me to compile Qcad, but it found no qmake on your System

and my Knowledge isnt good enough to fix this.

Can you compile Qcad from this Link?

Its the free Community Edition

http://www.qcad.org/...nity.src.tar.gz

I think he will be very happy when you can make this usable on Slackware.

Other Thing, need you Mirror for your big Images?

I have Access to a Openpandora FTP for Qemu Images and Sometimes i load up new Content, but in the moment have i not much Time

for Creating Qemu Images.

I work on an easy Way for Windows Users to install your Slackware under Windows more easily on an SD Card,

only with Mouseclicks :)

But that will be released in next Days :)

Edit: Is that ok when i release your Slackware in German Pandora Forum too?

Unfortunately, Qcad needs Qt3, which i didn't succeed to compile on ARM.

I patched around, but still no luck. It's on my todo list, i need Qt3 for twinklephone (the best VOIP program).

I compiled, but not tested, two cad programs. Hope that can help him:

brlcad

leocad

Thanks, but i'm already on the OP server ;^).

Installing Slackware under windows, huh, that's so ugly ^^.

I never tried to use the linux tools.

Anyway, that's nice, hope you will share some screenshots.

Of course you can tell the german people about Slack ^^.

I'm giving Qt3 a try.

Found a new bug in the build script. Should be pretty long to compile.

I don't.

I'm currently unemployed and low on money, and i must admit some kind of reward would please me :/.

But i just thought the following would be useful for the community and I:

I have a first batch order still not delivered, maybe i can create a "pot" to complete a 1GHz Pandora.

I compile a lot of stuff when i create a new release, additional speed will help.

Also, funding this upgrade will fund an unit for another first batcher.

This is my order:

1 x Battery & 1 x TV Cable & 1 x Pandora = 238.97 GBP

If i cancel the battery and the TV cable, there is less to pay.

I'll PM ED to check how much remains to fill this.

Also, thank you for making this reward proposition.

I just installed RC3. As a mini linux computer, I'm loving it, but I had problems with the first two PNDs I tried.Snes9x4P - It goes to the screen where you can choose a rom, but when I select a rom, it just comes back to the starting screen. Also, I PCSX ReARmed r15 won't start.

Strange, both should work.

Can you post here the output of the logfiles from /tmp plz ?

Hmmm, this board is not letting me upload the output files. I tried to put on a different extension and to zip it, but still no luck. I don't want to cut & paste the output files here since they are large. Do you have a throw away email address that I can send it to? If so, PM me.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just deleted the output files and made new ones so that it only has the info for one start up. Here they are:
