Please I beg your forgiveness

I don't know what illness or daemons befell you, hakmanplayer... but I am guessing you have a behavioural issue or some sort of mental affliction. If this is the case, provide a documented diagnosis or medical prescription to the community and I'm sure anyone who's not a terrible person will forgive you in time. They probably will not ever be your friend, but that's just the way it goes.

I know someone with serious issues like these... someone who can say hateful, nasty, stupid shit and then turn around and have a beer with you. He never says "sorry," he shows it. Sometimes I think that's for the best. Humbling yourself only goes so far. You are not going to buy back the respect you lost in a day, and as a matter of fact by grovelling you'll just look pathetic. You'll be lucky if you can get it back in a year.

You have to understand, my friend. You wished brain cancer on these people. Perhaps it wasn't you, perhaps it was you under the influence of mental disease, but your face, your voice, your comments from your fingers... they're all associated with these events now, and there is no way they will ever not be again. Brain cancer is a slow, unforgiving death; in the most common form it is incurable. Even with crippling treatment the median survival is only 12 months. 12 months of hell. 12 months of fading away painfully, friends and family members crying around you, wondering why any loving God would create you if only to let you die in such a manner. I imagine some of those who are not forgiving you had family members with this very disease or some form of cancer or degenerative brain disease.

I never saw what you did to Prometheus and Wizardstan in depth because I had written you off as a troll, but reading the links Prometheus posted... I guess you told WizardStan to do Prometheus in the allegedly fat bum? Not as bad as wishing brain cancer on anyone. I thought it was kinda funny, but there again, I laughed hysterically at the "The Aristocrats" joke, so perhaps I'm sick?

Show, don't only say, you're sorry, and in time anyone who really matters will forgive you. Life is too short to hold grudges, and if you truly repent and those whom you assaulted in your time of insanity do not in time forgive you, I've found that the psychological burden ever so slowly shifts from your shoulders onto theirs. I am guessing by your previous reference to "G.D" and "what the jews call a yenta" you are a man of faith to some degree. I am unfamiliar with Jewish tradition, but do whatever you need to do to make yourself right in the eyes of God, and righteous men will follow.

There's enough finality to scare me shitless in the concept of eternal damnation. I will never, ever say I will not forgive someone. It's not my prerogative; it's not in my hands.

I thought it was kinda funny
Classy.

My sense of humour is twisted, I'll admit, but there is a certain class of people on the internet whose insults turn to ash when you consider how desperate for attention they're being. I find it is better to laugh at these things than to take offense to them. I apologise if you're angry at me, I truly don't want on your bad side. If it makes any sense, the very same insult would have made my jaw drop if it were in real life, said by a corporeal person to another in person. When you've seen the dark side of the internet, even worse than 4chan... such shallow attempts at cruelty invoke laughter.

I also think you should probably realise that if a man who looks (no offense intended to him) to be in his later years is using such childish insults, perhaps there is an underlying behavioural or developmental deficiency? Imagine an 8-year-old saying what he said, then try to hate them. If you truly can... bless your soul.

I agree with some of the people here. While humbling yourself was a step in the right direction, It will take a couple of months of civility and positive attitudes in order to totally convince the forum that you have indeed changed.

Btw AquaAnalogue, I think it would have been wise to keep this "I thought it was kinda funny" to yourself.. laughing at a joke can be as bad as making it, because your attitude shows through your sense of humor like a glass wall.

EDIT: also, I really think you aught to stop in general, you said some helpful and positive things but this late post might undo some of the progress of civility.

Very well then. It seems that the "that was pathetic" element involved in the laughter wasn't picked up. Apologies.

EDIT: Let the record reflect I'm mildly uncomfortable with you telling me to shut my mouth. That said.... I will humour you, as it seems I've unintentionally pissed off Prometheus, and two people telling me off has filled my quota for the evening. Good night.

Well with hakmanplayer, I think it's probably a good thing (what you said earlier). If he's willing to make himself look pathetic in order to appeal to the general consensus of the forum it shows how much he is willing to change.

To be honest, I was scrolling through posts waiting for an outburst from him and hadn't found one. Better that he comes of as that rather than being proud and striking up an argument again.

EDIT: Thanks for letting it be, sorry if I came off as controlling, but I had a pretty heated argument with the man myself (on youtube), and I was hoping he'd change for good this time =]

whoa wh0a whoa. wait just a goddamn minute here...what place on the internet is darker than 4chan?

First of all, have some dignity man. There is no need to grovel at the feet of these people. Apologize if you’re sincere. If your not don’t bother and stay away. I am amused about how upset people get at people who act a fool. By reacting you simply feed the need for attention. Kick the dude or a admin give a warning with an emphasis to the Forum rules. Here are my questions to those of you that get ticked off. Does this person sign your paycheck or vice versa? Is this person part of your immediate family? What does it really matter at the end of the day? NOPE! I have nothing to forgive you for as I was not a target of your rant, but honestly I would ignore you for being an idiot.

Okay, one more post then I hit the hay.

The answer is many, but few are easy to get to. Most are private and encrypted, and do not use the traditional HTTP/S and public DNS records. A few, however, are hosted normally by "corrupt" or lax ISP's in third-world countries with no way for the US to practise its usual dubious mittengrabbing other than all-out war.

AnonTalk BBS was one such site-- it branded itself as an almost completely censorship-free environment; no illegal content allowed but talking about even highly illegal things was perfectly fine. I was working on doing a research project on it for a Dangerous Texts class, centred on the impact of absolute anonymity on people. You couldn't understand how terrible some of the things said were. People have been reported and arrested for saying certain things on 4chan. On AnonTalk, multiple people would engage in conversations about how to condition their own children to become sex objects for them and their partners. They would talk about the latest child pornography released on the darknet, referring to the "models" by their first names.

There was an ongoing war between AnonTalk and a similar 'clone' board, Tinychan, which had similar software but heavy censorship. The sysops and users of AnonTalk and Tinychan considered each other mortal enemies, and would take turns DDoS'ing each other's boards and bitching to each other's ISP's trying to get forced takedowns. AnonTalk's side of things was that Tinychan was an "illegal clone site" which stole its software. Tinychan's side of things was that the software was a perfectly legal open-source clone, and that AnonTalk harboured paedophiles and criminals by maintaining its strict vow against censorship.

In the end, AnonTalk lost. Started with the idea of true, unadulterated free speech in mind, it died because the world wasn't ready for it yet, because it had a Nazi moron of a sysop who treated his users like garbage, and because trolls will be trolls. There were a lot of terrible things being said, but between those topics there were some of the most interesting conversations I'd ever read. When it went down for good, I was in the midst of a really interesting discussion with some questionably sane folks involving quantum immortality. I had to quickly change topics on my research and do a project on WikiLeaks instead. Got an A+ on it, but to this day I wish I could have finished out that project.

Well if it means anything i did make new youtube videos reviewing the Pandora.

Neko posted it in another thread.

Please check them out.

I've nothing left to say.

If you choose to hate then hate , i am moving on and hope if i need some assistance maybe someone well find it in their heart to help me.

We all make mistakes some worse than others. Forgiveness is a virtue but I never expected it from everyone here.

interesting read dude. anonymity is a strange thing. on sites like those i think it is different seeing people with a particular agenda using the anonymity to help them do depraved things. it will attract a niche part of society rather than being something there for everyone to act anonymously. anonymity should be a right but the reasons for wanting the anonymity are the things that should be questioned.

r.e. the "i thought it was funny" thing, hey i respect someone for saying that because some times things can be taken too seriously. imho humour, though not appropriate in every situation, is able to be derived from everything in one way or another. sure don't do something to specifically mock or hurt someone's feelings but hell, we have all seen South Park. its racist, classist, gingerist, sexist, etc in its humour and ultimately it is HILARIOUS.

some guy loses his mind in an huge crazy offensive way and starts spouting bile on youtube? don't anyone try and say that is not funny in various ways. even if its just a "wow that was silly" *chuckle* kinda way. noone is saying "oh brain cancer is funny".

just don't be so eager to get up on a high horse.

You know it's funny you use the term 'high horse'. I never was on a high horse or put myself on a pedestal. Nor am i some snake oil salesperson for my beliefs ; no soapbox here.

One thing that used to upset me here and still does is the high horse attitude people throw at you.

The difference for me is that I don't care anymore.

These people that are still so bitter with me really are in the same category they place me in.

I typed some bad stuff. My head was not together. Just font on the screen.....Sorry.

You know it's funny you use the term 'high horse'.
that's cool man, i wasn't referring to you, just people's criticism of what can be seen as funny.

r.e. you and the community i say live and let live, not worth the effort to be a hater :)

I agree totally. I also think some people identify these forums as an alter ego.

Thriving on hate is not cool.

I could only hate someone I truly loved I suppose.

Peace.
