Not familiar with the Pandora Console adapter for some reason, so I can't really answer that first question, its just that my first thought when looking at it was that there was a lot of empty space behind those two sockets, and that it would be nice if they could be physically closer to the unit. I see what you mean about being able to open the lid being a limiting factor there though. You mean a mechanical construction like for the Pandora Console adapter?
One issue to take care of is that you can still open the lid. This limits the max. dimensions of the PCB which must accomodate tree connectors and the amplifier chip.
And I have not found an USB3 plug (the one going into the Pyra) which can be vertically mounted to the PCB. Vertical USB2 and SATA sockets are easier to find.
Come on, @EvilDragon, that poll finished a week or two ago, and was pretty unequivocal; get that prototype unit shipped! No, I haven't - I don't think it has been shipped yet.
Yes, such fora have too many messages to follow and remember all of them...Not familiar with the Pandora Console adapter for some reason,
Heh that was the post I was originally replying to LOL I just missed the bit at the bottom of the post for some reason. but yes, that's what I had in mind.Yes, such fora have too many messages to follow and remember all of them...
Here is the pointer: I mentioned it here ca. 2 pages ago https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/its-software-this-time.99105/page-10#post-1675571 It is the small image at the end of the post.
So production starts this week? You are just first in the normal pre-order queue, right? From ED on IRC, sounds like I should get my Pyra this week

Huh, I thought it was one of the ones that was already sitting on his desk at the start of this discussion?I think he's getting it a little extra early.

I thought that ED said that he would get one quickly, but without the final packaging.
Looks like we both remembered correctly...I've got a few retail units here already (without packaging, etc. though) and would love to send him his unit already - but he's a bit further down the queue.
I think it would be great if I let him SKIP the line - and finish his order right away (sending him packaging and the rest of the experience later on).
