Fishynes 0.01a

:( Still doesn't work w/ 1.2.0 (for me anyway)

Are you SURE you're getting the paths right? The easiest way is just to dump the whole fishyNES folder that's inside the zip into the root directory of your card.

I'm using theoddbots cramfs, so I guess it could feasibly be the firmware, although I can't see why...

I FINALLY got it to work by putting the .gpe & .cfg files and the skin folder in the root and it worked!
No other directory structure would work for me, just FYI.

(nice emulator, BTW!) :D

::edit:: I tried it again in other directories and still nothing, it seems that on my unit it HAS to be in the root! :(

Other than that, this is the best NES emu on the GP2x yet! You've made my day! :)

This is a really good emulator. Only complaint is the a and b buttons. Could you make those user configurable? (X and Y mapped to something would be good too :D)

Very nice. Made my Sunday afternoon. I have been used to playing NES roms through PocketNES on the gba which has to squash everything as the screen isn't big enough - its so nice to see Megaman in all his detail again!

He said you could change those in the .cfg file.

this doesn't work no matter what dir it goes in, whole folder or not. I'm just going to upgrade fw and see if it helps. I had no reason to upgrade before as I heard there are issues with some programs, but being able to play this is definately worth it. I guess nobody else is using 1.2.0 anymore huh?

one problem I found, it seems to hang while starting it now but if i hit start it works

Hmm... sounds like it's not picking up the (temporary) splash screen. Have you got splash.bmp in the skin folder? Do you see the ROM selector background too, or is it just black?

definately something is wrong, but I've followed install instructions exactly and it still just kicks me out to the menu. I've never had a problem installing an emu like this. I seem to be the only one with a problem getting this to load.

Okay I got it working! I think the problem may lie in how many roms I have. My nes rom dir has 759 roms in it. I tried the install on another sd card and only put one rom in the dir and it works. Maybe this is an issue that must be resolved....does anyone else have that many roms in their dir?
EDIT: sorry for the double post

Well, this new version that has frameskipping is AMAZING. FS1 works full speed with every rom I try. And its skinnable :D Ill start making skins for it.

 Hahahaaaa!!! I'm laughing WITH you, BTW ... I had similar problems while testing early builds of Stella .... try to keep the # of ROMs under 256.
