Cases, colors and emails

I think the white one looks very retro, which is why I like it. It should be more off-white, but it looks really cool.
I would still go for black, because after you got your sweaty hands on it for some intense gaming it will soon look like any old white keyboard does after a while.
Still retro, but not very inviting to touch. ;)
Black plastic is very forgiving when it comes to that.

The case

Tweakings of the case are almost done.
According to my contact in Greece, they will most likely be produced next week (or shortly after), in different colors.
This will be the time when we can assemble more prototypes and make pictures of the colors, so we all can decide which one we'll take (black will be one, that's for sure).

I can't wait for those :)

So this may be too late. But have you thought of attachment points ?

I'm bad at 3d design or mechanical intuition but I have a GTA04/Neo Frerunner and at the beginning I thought the hole was weird.
But it is very useful. You can just pass a riboon like those used for badges or id cards in a congress and attach it to clothing or bags
you carry, in case it falls off your hand.

Something like the pyra would be nice to carry hanging from your neck. you take it on your hands when needed, hang it on you chest when not and can still look at the screen now and then. Somebody might also want to strap it to a palm, back of hand, forearm, attach it to a bike handle bar, a cockpit, whatever.

Also a device with GPS and keyboard would be nice for openstreetmap editing on the go, or just navigation outdoors. If the screen is not readable on bright sunlight, people might want to make some cardboard shade and attach it to the lid. Or maybe a cloth like in ancient photo cameras that attaches to the lid and covers your head to shade the sun.

Somebody might want to attach some kind of camera or any device to the back of the lid or somewhere, and connect through usb but need some way to hold peripheral and pyra together, and could sew some peripheral bag and attach it to pyra (maybe in some kind of fishnet to keep airflow).

It looks like there would be few ways to pass a ribbon or cord around the device to stick something to it, so some holes, kensignton-lock attachment or similar, or fastener-like or button-like protuberances or even some fixed or removable short ribbon or cord straps could help. maybe both at the backs of keyboard and display. Or at the sides or corners ?

To me it looks like difficult to design to be compatible with space restrictions, not too invasive or ugly for users that not needed and strong enough that it is not a breakage risk, but most people here look more clever than me, so who knows what's possible ?

I already considered something like that. Since it is is across two case pieces it would either get I'm the way when opening the case or it would need to be cut in half. The corners could also start to lift and look pretty bad. The only place that kinda works seems to be inside, near the gaming controls or screen.

Or you could affix it to only one side. Or with magnets.

But there is a wrist-strap hole in there... :)
Good. I hadn't seen it. It's that hole in the back below and between the headphone and microUSB connectors, right ?
If you pass some lanyard through it i guess it still allows the pyra to stay flat in a table, right? .
Not that a handheld is designed for a table, and one can put it on top of anything that lifts it a couple of milimeters over the table.
I don't have an stl viewer here to check, sorry. Still, more attachment points (front corners or sometihng on the lid) would be useful,
but it's ok.
Congratulations and good luck, btw.

Growing up is not growing old. I would rather constantly be moving toward growing up than be there and only have growing old to look forward to (or backward from...).

I'm seriously considering buying or sewing/making a holster, possibly even a shoulder holster, for the Pyra... ;-)
Do you mean to carry it closed ? or something to hold it while in use ?

Something like this could come in handy, too bad those holsters look so terribly dorky.
That they certainly do. I used to have one on my belt for my phone... practical, but my wife was really glad when it wore out and I finally had to get rid of it.

With a shoulder holster, though, you could wear it under a (suit/sports) jacket, blazer or vest and it wouldn't be visible at all.
Concealed carrying... a Pyra! ;-)

Doesn't really work in summer, unfortunately. Or whilst wearing a pullover. Magical trouser pockets like those bags from Harry Potter or an inflatable Pyra would solve thisxD
