Optoma Pico PK301+ ordered.

Converting from mpeg.

Totally unprepared demo, and the room wasn't totally dark.

Also, my camera is pretty bad and loses focus from time to time.

Some more report.

The autonomy is ridiculous, don't expect to watch a whole movie.

It's a very silent unit, but it seems the fans goes spinning faster when on while charging, then it's a bit noisy.

The integrated speaker is pretty good compared to the size of the machine.

The tripod is optional, it's the same screw size as cameras.

There is no real image settings for composite and hdmi.

The picture with it by the side of your pandora looks really nice.

I will check the video, I´m interested on this too (just interested, can´t afford jack right now).

Thanks for sharing!

Just checked.

Excellent choice of games!

For the projected screen size, the white seems ok to me. Do you loose too much if going for a higher size?

Really nice.

I'm not a projector specialist, but i'd say the main loss is precision, then brightness.

I will probably do another shot tonight.

Is there anything you want me to test ?

It looks like a fantastic little projector.. I have a full sized optima 1080p DLP projector and was impressed by the color, quality and brightness of it.

What do you mean by precision? resolution?

Its response time seems quite nice too. I don´t see blended frames.

Also, by seeing you play wipe out, it gives me a straight impression of the pandora analog controls, it looks extremelly good and sensitive.

KOF 98 would be a good test, as I would probably buy a projector + proper controls for that matter and work. But work I would probably fry the lamp within 2 years.

Is it a 16 bit display?

The video is a bit better than the reality.

But indeed, it's nice.

Sort of, the image begins to blur at 1m50.

I didn't know there are response times with projectors.

Yes, at first glance, there is no lag.

Wasn't playing with the nubs :D .

But yes, the OP nubs totally rocks.

I don't know if i have this one.

Marvel Super Heroes ? ;^)

Is it a 16 bit display?
The OP screen ? The projector ?

I don't know.

When you say ridiculous, how long does it last actually ?

Overall are you happy with your purchase?

This thread is a bit old and pico projectors have surely moved on over the past eight years but was wondering what you guys make of the Nebra AnyBeam? https://www.theregister.com/2019/05/09/nebra_anybeam_laser_projector/
Obviously it’s had teething problems with poor communication to Kickstarter backers, rather long lead time etc. but it’s just now come up for sale to the general public and was thinking of getting one to use with my Pyra, RPi and other devices.

That The Register article mentions that there should be a 1080p version on its way before too long so thinking it might be better to wait for that - and hope they implement any customer feedback from the 720p version at the same time...

I had a look at this video, and I can see it isn't so bright, but price and size surely are a plus.

In the video it is pointed on reflective surfaces... but... is it laser reflection good for the eyes ?

I did't found unboxing videos around.
