Back from Greece

Ok so it’s would be a better solution on the Gpd Win to just let the lid open whyle using the TV Screen ..

One reason more for the Pyra: the Heatsink works whiteout the need of a Powersource..

I didn’t found out how to Connect to my Network Printer whit the Pandora,
So I think until I get my Pyra, I will use the Gpd for Office Work in the Office..

Hmmm - was the X86 HPLIP ever ported to ARM?

If this HPLP was in the DEBIAN Repo when DEBIAN was Portet to ARM, then it might got also portet..

In worst case, I send the Print via Email to the Printer..

I thought it wouldn't be nice but a combination like this is starting to grow on me too.

I'm just spouting ideas here, maybe some more constructive thread must be started to help Ed with decission making.
I do like the idea of having that dark red around the screen. It's dark enough that it's almost as good as black for making the colours on the screen pop out.

I've finally found one of the major threads where all of the various renders made till that point were collated:
https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/a-spectrum-of-pyra-renders.76573/

I think the first two renders of a clear case can't be made, and neither can ible's c64 beige one with the red game buttons be made but everything else is possible, and now we can make different colour plastics for each part, parts of these can also be combined if you think that's a good idea.

Edit: Fixed double negative.

Cool. So on the Pyra it should be just an apt-get away.

Now where do I plug in my DB-25 to Centronics cable for my Laser Jet+ on the Pyra...?
You should use apt instead, it's similar to apt-get with same syntax but it has colorized output and a progress bar.

And I think there exist USB to Centronics now! I used to have one.

I need a dot matrix printer
I need to get mine out of storage!

I am still hooked on the dark red as per the website renders. A touch of silver trimming would be cool with that though.
Maybe it's just me but there's something about that colour used in the website renders that I find really off-putting. That said, while I'm not a fan of dark red in general, I think I could live with it if it looked like my render that Djoga'Ro posted on page 2 of this thread. ;)

Could be so easy, if only the C64 would've been a darker red.

To me too. It seems to me to have a hint of brown. Maybe on TN-panels it can't be seen?

@Neelix @Eight Bit Which software do you use to create the renders ? Blender ? Where could we find the source files to play with please...? Thanks !

Let the renders flow!

@EvilDragon just an idea, maybe you should just choose 4 or 5 colors and have about 500 complete sets made of each color.
You could either assemble colors on order, or just have people buy complete, other-colored cases to modify themselves.

May I suggest at least the following colors?

Black
Cream white
Dark red
Deep blue
Grey

Extra: Transparant

Preferably with a slight glossy and or metallic finish so it doesn't look like very cheap plastic.

"Shoulder Buttons, Nubs, DPad and Stylus will have the same color and the rest of the case will also have the same color (but both can be different)."

In Blender you can just make additional colors and assign the color to each part individually. There's enough parts to make a rainbow Pyra

I'd prefer non-cheap-looks via texture. The back of the white (sand something) OnePlus 5t ain't a bit shiny, but looks and feels very good.
