These sets are complete
Of course, I can also throw in some of the older colored cases to every pre-preorder in case he / she wants some
[doublepost=1547685791,1547685042][/doublepost]Okay, it's time to go to bed already, but I still wanted to post the update
As mentioned, the discussion worked out a lot better than I thought.
There was no fight or struggle, no one of us got angry, we had a (long) but good talk.
They had to admit it didn't work out as planned and they made some mistakes, most probably because there were time when the case design wasn't worked on for a few months and some things simply have been forgotten during that time.
I know the Pyra certainly is no easy thing to design and develop, but we need to move forward and fix the final few issues, and this is a lot faster and easier if I have a company with enough capacity to quickly work on these things and I can check them myself and help finishing it.
So clearly, there were no "winners" in this, it was clear that this is the best way to move forward.
The moulds will be picked up in around 9 hours (together with 95 full transparent sets) and then I'll check and discuss with the new company what needs to be fixed and how we can do that.
They also are eager to improve the design, so we might get an updated version after the first production run (as these improvements will need new moulds
)
So first step: Fix these cases and make them suitable for mass production.
Second step: Find a proper material and color.
Third step: Produce enough cases for the first production run.
Once we're selling the Pyra, improvements can be worked on. As it's easy to change the case, everyone can upgrade later one as well
As some asked how big the moulds are... well, not big, but heavy.
Here's a picture of them:
