Release Angry Birds for Pandora

Maybe already mentioned, dunno....

...the downloadlink is still revealable using the wiki-history. Maybe it should be removed there as well.

You could manage to play DVD on LASERDisk ? If yes, it perfectly clear for me and fine, since you're not the target to sell DVD to..

no its not possible it was just an example, lol you think its ok because your not the target audiance? this of course it not the case if you were not the target audiance then you wouldnt even attempt to play it, the fact that you want to means that you are the target audiance especially if you went to alot of trouble in making it work anyway, if you were not the target auidance then you wouldnt even want to play the game full stop.

but hey i dont care anyway lol most people have prob downloaded a film which they have not paid for.

It could be harmfull for company if like Blue Protomoan said "..it may prevent you from buying the game on another platform." but here it's another [darker] side of software copyright: If im not happy with software that i bought , for example AB for android , why i cant return it? Its because the laws said.. well you bought it.. so.. fuck off, now. I wonder why i cant return an item in the same way i return an mp3 player to shop, when im not satisfied with it. What if you're not satisfied with the software you bought.. you stay unsatisfied , because you cant return this item.

If you're not happy with *unofficial* port of AB on OP, you will not buy *Android version* of AB. If You like AB on OP , then you might buy it for you mobile as well.. If you never intend to buy AB on any platform [that's officially supported] , because you're using only OP to play, you are not the target to sell AB to. And you will never be. And in this case you'd never steal money from ROVIO's pocket..

BTW. It reminds me strange situation with music tracks which i can legally record from radio station, and LEGALLY OWN, but i cant legally download copyrighted MP3. Can anybody explain me why this sick situation occurs? well... it occurs because law isnt made with rubber.

you can't return a digital item because its not physical and in essance there is nothing stopping you from copying your purcase (apart from copy protection which is already broken).

You could also play all the way through it and decide you dont like it this is basically ripping the software company off, this is why trial versions of software should be available as is on the windows phone that way you can test the game and decide wether u like it or not.

just because you never "intended" to purcase/play the game anyway doesnt mean its ok to go ahead and play it haha thats a rubbish excuse.

thats like going to a supermarket and and eating the products on the shelfs then walking out without paying and saying i never intended to purchase anyway - its not an excuse.

That's all true. Yet, the law still forbids an unofficial version for the OP to exist. You can fight to change those laws, but this is not the place for that (though we can discuss it).

One of the wiki admins should be able to find out the IP address of this "Chell". GEOIP that, see if it's out of Finland; that'd give us at least something to start with. Also a good chip to have if Rovio lawyers come knocking.

The links should probably also be removed from the wiki until this is settled, just to be safe.

Thanks to german laws, it's not possible.

German laws forbid to save the IP address, so it's scrambled and can't be undone.

Does the German law protect you against content uploaded by user (in a similar way as the U.S. DMCA) or are you responsible for all content?

wrong, you wanted it so you steal it. Above situation was true if you steal and eat a product from supermarket and after that you put your finger in your mouth to vomit the contents that you eat..

Proper situation is:

You're straight average porn lover, and you're going to buy another DVD with Prawn content. You're going to the shop where always was a straight sex dvd.. and you just notices that everywhere on shelfs are gay porn dvd's. The casher gives you "free GAY DVD", which is copyrighted material, and you take it because is for free.. in other situation you'll never but this Gay DVD.. but hey now its free so you can watch it [and you're curious what it could look like].

Sorry about sexual thing , but it perfectly fits in what i would like to show you about "software you wouldnt buy, because you're not the target.."

You're looking at it from the wrong angle. It's not the downloader that is facing legal issues but the distributor. In this case, the wiki is (most likely) illegally distributing angry birds. If PandoraPress, apps.openpandora.org or the repo link to it or provide it for download, they too become a valid target for legal action.

the problem with that scenario is the retail aspect im assuming the casher is giving you the gay porn dvd for free because he can, the shop has already purchased the DVD's from the surplier and this the surplier (copywright owner) is not harmed, if this is not the case then of course this is illigal as they are giving something away that doesnt belong to themselfs.

Most important thing is: Will DVD producer lost his money when somebody gives me gay-DVD for free [while im not the target , and i would never buy gay - dvd], and the answer is: NO.

Of course im not saying its legal. Its not.. only thing im saying: there are "stealing software" and "using / share software without harming a producer". For example.. A week ago Atari INC. started to fight with web pages which are releated with roms and atari 2600 content. Atari never tried to help preserving these roms, and if some webpages wouldnt preserve it, Atari couldnt release any roms right now on XB360 or PS3. These webpages never intended to harm a Atari inc.

If we look at this from Atari's view we can say emulators harms Atari inc. much more than released roms. Withuot emulators there will not be problems with roms..

in that situation NO because your purchasing from a retailer who has already purchased the stock, but in the case of mobile downloadas i.e. apple app store or android marketplace the "DVD producer" will not recive any money untill the item is purchased so the answer is YES he will be harmed.

I already stated i would never buy gay - dvd, im straight so i couldnt use "gay app store" on my mobile. Its easiest way to explain: if im not the real target for buying this content , i'll never harm any producer.

so if:

- i'm a player and im only play games on pandora and i'll download AB on OP and play -> its ok.. im not taking money from ROVIO's pocket

- i'm a player and wanted to play in AB on my androdi but i have no money to buy it, and i downloaded it on OP and playing it on OP -> its not ok.. i just took few pounds from ROVIOS pocket.. and this sucks..

and the problem with law is: law cant differ a "stealer" from "man that uses a soft which not harms producer"

both these situations are the same appart from 1 fact that senario 1 didnt intend to purchase senario 2 you didnt want to pay

in bith situations you went ahead downloaded and played the game even though the content wasnt legally owned or made for pandora. - its still wrong ethically and legally even if your "intentions" was never to buy it.

but in this case because you cant actually purchase the game for the pandora anyway it wouldnt be you that got into trouble for downloading (as far as im aware) but the distributer.

"its still wrong ethically" -> huh, bank's money speculation is wrong ethically , but it's completely legal..

As Caine already pointed out: Nevermind the distinctions of legality, morality and ownership - which by all means are an interesting question - the real problem here is not whether copyright law is (morally) right or wrong, or whether Rovio would be harmed or not, but the facts that

a) this alleged AB-pnd (that I didn't see) is, by all signs, not legit, therefore illegal to distribute

B) the distributing party, if the pnd remains accessible from the wiki or from these forums, would quite likely be deemed to be ED, OpenPandora GmbH, or both.

Therefore the pnd must go, and all links to it. Unless we'd rather see ED spend the next year in a prolonged legal battle with assorted mobile lawyers instead of building pandoras.

Of course, heroically standing up against the evil forces of copyright lawyers is a noble activity, but if have a choice in the matter, I'd rather see someone else do that.

I think it runs awesome and feels unlike most programs on the Pandora.... which is professional. Guy who ported it should get praise, wonder if the same method can be applied to other games?
