All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

They were finished together with the 2000 we already have, we just didn't ship them... so unless they trashed them, they are still there ;)

Congratulations on this momentous occasion, ED. Now, what we would all like to know is how many boards with nubs can Circuit Co produce per week? Also, how many Pandoras can be fully assembled and shipped per week? I recall somewhere around 200 per day by the team at Village Hall. what is the status of having the company in China assembling them simultaneously?

Easy: Craig puts each fourth unit aside. Each few days, Jacquelyne grabs the box where my units are in and ships it.

While building units, no one counts how many are built, they just keep building and building. Jacquelyne just ships the box o' Pandoras to me and also doesn't count them.

So I have no idea how many there are in transit and therefore I cannot tell you.
Ok, thanks. That's what I wanted to know. I must say though, I'm flabbergasted at the bookkeeping habits of you guys. You are basically saying that when a shipment is lost, you have no idea what damages to claim as you don't even know what's in the air. I won't press the matter any further and will just try to patiently await my shipping notification.

If it is indeed this bad, I do strongly recommend to improve your bookkeeping and overall info you have over running processes as I suspect a lot of the delays can be attributed due to lack of information and communication on your end. Having said that, it's your business and you should run it the way you see fit.

Oh, we do know. We know the exact amount of boards Craig gets from CC, and 1/4th is what has been shipped to me.

And I know what I receive.

Also, every package has a tracking number, so if one is lost, we'll know that.

Any info regarding my previous post above? Oh, and one question: What is the range of the Pandora's Wi-Fi signal? I know someone who can get a signal from the middle of the house from his PSP, but the signal isn't picked up anywhere else in the house. There must be a wireless signal coming from somewhere, but I have no idea which direction. Is there a way to boost the signal dramatically? I'm in the 850-950th spot in Batch 2's queue, and I would imagine that at the rate of a couple hundred per week, it may be around June at the latest by my calculations.

What are you smoking? We are almost @ 1500 in the wild. Approx 2400 left in Batch 1. 6 weeks there at this pace. I'd add another month to that worst case in your position.

ED or Craig,

Video Out TV cables? Status? Please with sugar on top.

Really? That is reassuring, what is the current going rate considering shipping times. Some parts are delivered by ship, and some via airmail, all from different locations. I'm just glad that Circuit Co is paying for shipping. They did produce a couple hundred (exact amounts) during the holidays, so I'm not worried. As for video cables, those shouldn't be so hard to acquire. I have a case and cable ordered when I purchased one on October 31st. How many were sold from the 2nd batch?

You must be new here. Seriously, if I were you, I would worry about the cases still being in China, I would worry a LOT.

Every time the team said, "should be ok", "can ship it right when needed" or something similar, there has been another two months delay. For some strange reason, these things have a notorious habit of going wrong in the least expected fashion.

My experience so far: anything that isn't there as we speak WILL cause another delay. I do seriously hope I'm wrong for a change. Matters are looking rather positive, but I've learned to expect the worst.

I'm not new, I have been a member here for a couple of months now, although I've been following the project since 2008 and the boards since August. I am fully aware of the problems facing this project: a high failure rate from the original nubs due to non-testing or quick testing, the case manufacturer who easily changed their situation and delivered, Circuit CO and its hit-or-miss board production, and the dreaded 2 months. I know that the PSP2, PSPphone, Ipad 2, and so on are going to be released soon (I'm not a GP2X fan, either), but the Pandora is the device I always had pictured in my mind, except for the buttons between the nubs. It does everything I could want it to do (games, office apps, different versions of Linux and Windows 3.1, wi-fi, you name it), which is excellent. I may not have ordered from the beginning of Batch 1, but I have managed to save up bit-by-bit in order to purchase it and here I am.

Wow, Does this means i might really receive a pandora? I am shocked. Now i have to figure out if I was in batch 1 or 2. I did order in february of 2009. I cannot wait! my coworker cancelled his order and i just can't wait to be playing in front of him :)

I am laughing at my previous post, where i declared "I cannot wait". Well it is since feb 2009 that i am waiting, so I can wait after all.

Sorry, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but are you thinking that since this guy is earlyish batch2, he'll need to wait another seven months to get his?

Or do you mean that it could be just another month or so until batch2 gets started up?

I'm sorry to be bugging you over something so minor. It's just that, as a batch2 newbie, I sorta take the older guys here with some seriousness and from your posts you seem to know a lot about the Pandora.

I bought from batch recently. Ed hasn't answered any posts I've asked about the printing of boards for batch 2 in the last few days.

I dont think they know if I'm honest. It certainly doesn't seem they are gearing up for batch 2...likelihood is they wait for all of batch 2 to be bought id guess 7 months about right.

No need to jump to defense. I was joking about that part :)

That's why we're all still around. There really is nothing like it.

So many people asked about batch 2 and got no answers. There is definitely something wrong. I don't expect my pandora before 2013.

Regarding cases, the status shows:

Case Company: All cases finished, 2000 have already arrived in UK (excluding the ones already shipped as as final Pandoras), the rest can be shipped from China anytime

I 100% don't want to tell the team what to do, but I humbly wonder if it would be possible to request the cases are shipped now. I am sure there is a really good reason for not shipping, but I can't help but worry that for us at the end of Batch1, there is a chance the cases might suddenly be delayed.

It seems the Nub/Mainboard issues are solved, so I'd just love to see that status change too:

Case Company: All cases finished, 2000 have already arrived in UK (excluding the ones already shipped as as final Pandoras), the rest are shipped from China, UPS gives ETA of March 1st

(Please) :)

There's nothing wrong so far with Batch 2, it's still planned to start shortly after Batch 1 is finished.

But as long as we have no idea if CC can keep up the speed and how many they can really produce per week / month, how can we predict when Batch 2 will start?

Hi,

My post was nothing to do with Batch2 ED. It was about the cases needed for Batch1, and when they would ship. I just wasn't sure why the team were not shipping them. Just a bit fearful that they will be delayed from China for some reason.

Thanks!

Ah, okay, didn't see that.

We're currently arranging shipping, so pickup will probably be within this week.

They hadn't been shipped since we eventually wanted to start assembly at the new company in Taiwan, but if CC continues production without anymore delays, there's no reason to switch.

We still have boards for the next 1300 Pandoras in UK :)
