"Cool splash screen goes here"

 I'm going to leave it like that

Edit: *Note: I found that by OC'ing to 250, all games I've tried thus far run at 54-60 FPS !! Amazing work ... thank you :)

I can't get it to properly read the cfg file. I tried putting them both in the SD root, both in the fishyNES folder, I tried renaming the cfg file .conf like it says in the readme, nothing. It keeps using the default control scheme. Also, a lot of my roms won't load, but that may just be the roms. The ones that do load work great, though, and I'm looking forward to future releases.

Yeah i tested various numbers of ROMs, need 255 or less roms for it to load up or it kicks you back to the menu.

D'oh!

A retarded mistake on my behalf does indeed limit you to 255 ROMs :( Sorry to everyone who's been having problems because of it, I'll get it fixed in the next release.

Nice splash screens PSyMastR. Mind if I use the second one as a default? If people don't like it, it's easy enough to replace :)

It's good to see you in good health again bawb :)

This is shaping up to be a mighty fine emulator. Too bad I only have six games to play with.

@PSyMastR, love the second splash screen nice and clean.

@DemonStar55, love the imagery.

fishybawb can you make implement a skin selector at some point, I'm torn between two designs already. :p

Same here, it doesn't load the .cfg / .conf file. I'd love to map B to NES B and Y to NES A. Would make playing Mario a lot more enjoyable.

Other than that, great emu! I hope it'll improve with time, along with the Amiga, NES is my favourite system ever.

Hmmm... seeing as that's the second time someone's mentioned the .cfg file (the .conf reference in the readme is a typo btw), I'll look into it. It *seems* to work OK for me, but then again I can also run the .gpe from any folder whereas other people can't. Maybe there's something screwy in the path handling.

Anyway, now I need to perform The Annual Reformat on my dev laptop, it's starting to piss me off. And yes, everything's backed up :D

Ya, sure use the second one in the package. Thats what Im currently using. The first was kind of a crappy blend thing to make a fish shaped title, but failed.

I see it now!

You may have done this already but did you try adding a fish head shape and a tail shape to the end and to see if it becomes more obvious. I want a fish shaped title. :D

I like that a lot! Maybe the fish could be a bit fatter and not so squashed in at the top, but then that would mean shrinking the NES a bit...

Yeah,

What fishybawb said, plus try making more of a pointed tip to the head and also what would the head look like with a hollow for a fish eye?

Hey fishy,

Great to see another release so soon. Some quick comments:

-Button mapping seems to work for me, however NES a and b are reversed. Easy enough to work around, but something to fix in the future. Also, perhaps others are having problems because maybe they are using a non-linux compatible text editor? I used programmer's notepad myself to make changes.

-Long rom names are now truncated in the menu which is great, but those roms now will not launch. The screen just briefly flashes and sits at menu until you select another game with a shorter name.

Otherwise, thanks for all your hard work. Already the best NES emu out there!

I retyped the whole thing character for character in nano, it's definitely NOT a cr/lf error.

Actually, I opened the file with Notepad++ and it is a windows formatted file. Maybe thats why?

That's what I'm saying though. It IS a windows/dos formatted file. I deleted mine though and recreated it character for character in a Unix text editor. It is definitely NOT a problem with formatting.

Edit: The problem is that A and B are backwards in the cfg file. If you set a button to be A, it will be set as B, and if you set it as B, it will be A. naples is correct.
