Nk Qtopia For Gp2x

Yep. Mount the image as a cramfs filesystem. Then you open the .ipk, and go down directories until you get to control.tar.gz and data.tar.gz. Choose data.tar.gz and continue until you get to apps, bin and pic. Copy files inside these folders to the relevant folders in the mounted image then mkcramfs it back into a .img. Copy it to your SD and you're good to go.

VNC Viewer works for me too, but text screws up for some reason.

Cygwin. I'll make up a package with a batch script. It basically works the same way as the skin changer for the cramfs firmware, except I can't be bothered to write a frontend.

just made my first qtopia.img ;) everything works thanks for the info..
i thought i will work on a small distribution :) with several new programs and games..

You'll want ZUC, it's a good converter app, and ntpdate if you can find it anywhere.

List of stuff I've shoved in mine (no games yet, need recommendations):
ntpdate
ZUC
OpieFTP
Flite (text-to-speech thingy)
KMerlin (MSN)
KeyPebble (VNC)
Icons for everything! (well, not quite, as I'm not a good enough artist to actually MAKE some)

If there's anything else people would like, say so.

i know that im a noob but could some one please help me, every time i try to run qtopia the screen just goes black and then returns to the main menu.
What am i doing incorrectly?

There's a gp2xkernel.img in the zip you download. Put that on the root of your SD and boot your GP2X with the SD inserted.

And I need game suggestions! Doublequick!

sorry for the double post but is it possible to connect my gp2x through the usb with qtopia running and share my connection to the internet, and if so how. I have windows XP.

Good, getting closer. When I launch the Qtopia .gpu with the .IMG file you posted, I get a black screen that the GP2X hangs at. At least it launches. Any ideas why?

My qtopia folder is under the root directory, and my Opera4Qtopia folder is under root as well. (I mean root of the SD)

does your qtopia folder is named Qtopia or qtopia? then the opera4qtopia is not needed anymore as i done an image of qtopia including opera.

look @ here

bye

Herc .

My folder is named Qtopia.

argh... tried to get several apps to work for hours... and all depend on several other libs i had to install, and after i got the last needed one they have problem with one of those and crash :(
lib is called libopie.so.1 and its a problem with a unknown symbol or something like that..
argh im pissed ;)

How do you even get this to work? Every version I tried doesn't work. 0308 goes to a black screen then back to the menu, 0310 does the same thing, and the .IMG file hercule posted just hangs on a black screen. What the fuck? :\
