I just ordered mine today from play asia it I hope it comes by saturday shipping cost enough for it to. I bought one so I could have a portable SNES because I think that has been my dream since I was 7 or 8. I considered waiting for the xpg mini but this cost only a hair more and seems like it can do alot more. I may still get a mini though just to have a pocket sized SNES. Anyway Im just counting down the hours.

Just make sure you overclock! ;)

Here's some help if you don't understand how to.

Can't believe my user is still registered :) Hello, I didn't post here for ages. I am the proud owner of a GP32 that kind of died (bricked?) on me a couple of months ago. Kind of, because I wasn't flashing it, I was playing an emulator, so maybe my overclocking resistor mod caused it, after running fine for months. Anyway that tragedy got me searching for a new portable device and maybe I'll try to revive my GP32 with a JTAG cable, I owe it that much.

So, I considered my choices, got temped by the PSP even if I was already in love with the GP2X. Finaly, made my choice and received my GP2X + TV-Out cable from GP32z yesterday. Great service, by the way : tested for overclockability(295 in first ant test of CPU tweaker, I have not verified this) and dead pixels. First impression, it's light, it's beautifull, it has a big and bright screen. But what is that distorted sound? Ahh speaker out of phase. So opened unit hours after receiving it, fixed it, the sound is great now. Didn't sleep enough, arrived late this morning and didn't have time to test much:

changed skin, ran DRMDX, squidge's SNES, port of FCE NES emu, wasn't able to make gngeo work yet maybe it's a bios problem, copied TNG episode + 2 simpsons the playback is a bit slow but great anyway, couple of mp3s, photos.

Ok my break is over, great little device, long live GPwhatever!!

See you all later

hmm i can? lol ok i guess i wont be lazy then, i am on a budget. I have about 315 USD to spend and I want to get gp2x, power adapter, 4 pack of batterie and charger, two 2 gig sd cards or 1 4 gig, and tv out/carrying case

This is gonna be a though one. ^_^ i will most likely end up dropping something but i dunno what to drop.

You need the case, SD, gp2x, & batteries. Power adapter can come later. :)

haha, I think I really do need that power adapter. I plan to actually use my gp indoors a lot more than on the go atm. Sorta in a college type situation in a dorm that has nothing to do. I know I don't need that 20$ official power adapter though, thats for damn sure lol. I think I will just skip the tv out adapter for now and get that later. My tv doesn't have s video anyways so I will have to spend even more on another adapter.

Just make sure you get *exactly* the right type, as using the wrong one can screw your GP2X. Check the threads in the forum.

Mine arrived in the mail 2 days ago.
Been waiting nearly 2 weeks for it :D

My main problem is that i only managed to scrounge up an 8mb
SD disk, so i'll have to pick up a 1gb at some point. Unable to
fit any games on the 8mb disk, only a SNES emu and 2 games.

The day after i got it i started programming for it :p
I already have a decent little project going.
I'll later have to do some research on how to
use the 940t as a pixel pusher.

Although i should pick up a compatible PSU for
it (3V and a veerry small plug), and try to get the
TV adapter working.

-Twixn-

If you're desperate, you can use some space on the NAND (just don't use it too often) -- there should be 20+MB free on it :)

Well i might just as well sign in too. The package arrived today and i have spend the last couple of hours playing with this marvelous piece electronics. How i missed a decent portable system to play my old c64 games on :D Im a pda guy, but even though my current pda got enough muscle to emulate about the same systems as the gp2x... its just that, well, a stylus and navigator buttons isnt exactly ideal as a gamecontroller
Anyway i just wanted to say hi, you are probably not going to notice me much, as i am kind the voyeur-type forum user, so ill be watching you , well okay ill drop a commment or ask a question if got something interesting or intelligent to say...

Yea I'm a soon to be owner too, I think my gp2x/4gb sd/carrying case/tv out will arrive tomorrow. Not sure when my batteries will get here though =((

why not use it to often? Is there some truth to the paranoia everyone seems to have about the NAND?
