Pre-ordered as soon as i saw it.

I don't see what all the moaning is about, the 2D Accelerator will take a HUGE load off the primary processor, Like Craig said, don't just judge by the clock speed.

Honestly can't wait for it, and who wants to emulate psx or n64, if i want to play those they're in a box close by (besides, there isn't enough buttons :p)

But the TV is heavy! And requires a lot of juice... :( I can't carry it around...

hahaaa :D
eyah, the 2d accelerator sets it apart i think.

i'm so pumped now

 You guys need some lcd tv's :p

Then theres a big plus with storage that everyone seems to be skipping too. I think its going to rock, especially if its cheaper than the current gp32, it'll keep my wallet smiling too :D

As for the 2D accelerator, who knows, maybe the sdk will take care of what goes to each processor (a very big hope). Guess we'll find out in the not to distant future.

i can't believe you guys pre ordering this without knowing the price. The GPX2 web site even states that anything can change at anytime. So if they change it to super uber buff specs and the price goes over $400 i'll be laughing at you all.

Will never happen, but I like to know how much something cost before committing to buy it. Just makes sense.

Mmm I don't know about the headphones port being on the top. On the side would of perhaps been better, so it could fit in the pocket easily when listening to music.

Not sure if that's what I'll be using it for.
Yeah, headphones sticking out of the upper left side would be much better. That way the wire from the headphones won't hang over the screen & it won't touch your hands either.

Also, what's with the EXT and DC chords being on the lower right side (click)? Won't that interfere with your hand?

i don't have time to read all that.. but the control stick is microswitched ?
the start and select buttons can be used for 6 button megadrive!
No, you won't be able to use it for a 6-button MD. I mean, look at it - can you see it being comfortable using the Start/Select buttons commonly? Much better to use the L/R buttons for that. Now if only they'd have the B/Y buttons switch places, to avoid a lot of confusion...

Still, I think this looks absolutely great! Whether it gets a better CPU or not, I think I'll be buying it for what it has already (only I'll probably wait until GP32Z gets its stock, since it's a lot closer to where I live -- they have a preorder list as well if you click on that link, but there's no way I'm ordering before I know more information).

EDIT: This looks like it'll be able to run DOSBox (x86 PC emulator) - I can't wait!

it does say 'cheap hardware' on the site

i just hope they didn't sacrafice to much Quality, to make the item "cheap". I'd hate for it to break or die in a few months.

you ain't gonna push psx out of that.. forget n64. forget neogeo. to make use of all of the fetures of the hardware it's gonna take one hell of a programmer.

Forget fire, it will never work. Wheel will just end up hurting someone. Infact, life was good in the trees. It's futile to tell any of us to "forget" a hope for something better.

*faints*

This is the best news ever. Though I too am concerned about the legal angle of them openly advertising emulation of systems by name. Also, is that not Tom Cruise on the screen? Is that legal? Oh no.... Sadness...

DONT MAKE TOM CRUISE THE NEW GAMEPARK MASCOT!

GPCruiseX2

EDIT: for the legal thing mentioned above, i was worried about openly naming the systems emulated, and then the Tom Cruise thing, yeah, lets pirate War of the Worlds and put it on the GpCruiseX2

Really, we'll all wait to see how it goes for the early adopters like trooper :)

ie: If 250 can clock to 400, it could be pretty swank...

Hey Trooper, you going to kill a few trying? :)

No the 2D GFX chip won't take a huge load off of the CPU. In some cases it even slows it down. By the time you shift data to the GPU memory etc you are loosing time. The Zodiac had a better 2D GPU than this and it made very little difference if any to emulation speed. SNES on the Zodiac is only a little faster and that is mostly due to the fact that the sound code is newer and more optimised. The GPU was only used for scaling and making the image blurry.

CPU speed is king.

I've asked to be put on the pre-order list, if it turns out to be quite expensive I can start working Sundays at work.
