Gpx2 Unvailed!!

Seriously, we don't know what this console can do but i hope this is not the final design, the "dual core" cpu disapoited me (in fact it is a good point for comercial games if there will be commercial games...but it is a bad point for homebrew, so i dont know what to think of it i wish they equiped it with a 400Mhz+ cpu (and maybe a 3d aceelerator but it would have been too expensive).
The future we tell us if this console is the successor of the GP32. Ireally hope it will be it, but the fact is that the begining is not that good.... :(
Plz Craig, can you tell us if the design will be the final one? Can you tell gamepark the suggestion we maid (one powerful processor...) or is it too late ?

For those of you who are complaining that it's not gonna be powerful enough and all that crap... Trust Craig. He told us we wouldn't be dissapointed, and I believe him. His GP32 review is what got me hooked on the system in the first place, and everything he says about the GP32 in the review is absolutely true... So I have no reason not to trust him. Even if the GPX2 the way the website currently describes it is a letdown, keep in mind this is the first info we have about it other than the little amount of info Craig was allowed to give us before. These are the first images of it... Things can change. The GP32 changed like 4 times before they finally decided on a design.

will all you moaners stop it and just give the poor thing a chance goddamnit!!!!!!

Yep, lots of moaners here <_<

That is because it sucks. Too slow of a CPU, not enough RAM, no buttons for vertical play BAH!

davec, you really need to give it a chance. After all, the gp32 far out performs what its specs suggest it can do. And we already were told by craig that the system has the capability to emulate many things more than we already have.

It's easy to whinge and moan, but let's put our faith behind gamepark and craig who have both come up with the goods so far, why should we think any different now.

If this system doesnt emulate amiga, neo geo and mega cd, instead of 'eating my hat', i will eat my gp32 instead!!

Oh, and i'll do it at the gbax meet whenever that may be if you want to be there to gloat.

EDIT: and if i cant eat it, i'll smash it up instead!

If that happens... since you're gonna just destroy it anyway, can I have it? PLEEEEEEEASE?

*EDIT*

Shit, sorry for the double post... I kind of assumed that someone else would post something before my 2nd post was sent...

i'm confident that i wont have to remote to such drastic measures as i have total faith in the new system.

I think there won't be time for a remodel to come out as i think the release of this console is imminent.

It sounds as if Craig already has a certain allocation which suggests that maybe production has started or is not far away.

Me too. I don't care about CPU, RAM, 3D, and/or N64, PSX, NEO GEO emus. I'll buy it the first day no matter what the King of Moaners says

If this ends up being cheaper than the GP32 then the price of the GP32 is going to drop quickly. My advise to Ebay sellers would be to sell now while you can still get a good price. Craig selling off his old stock was the warning sign.
Of course that's a tough one to call when we don't know how good this is going to be but newbies will want one of these instead of the now obsolete gp32 so it's worth keeping in mind.
Personally I'd rather not sell my gp but funds are severly lacking at present. I guess it depends on how long we have till this thing is launched.

Would this be able to have PDA functions? It would be great if they could add the back up battery or whatever is needed to have this function as it's something that quite a few people seem to have wanted from the gp32.

The design is pretty good but I'm not loving the colour. I know it's meant to match the gp32's colour scheme but the gold/beige is not a good look. The CG image of the black console is far nicer but maybe they don't want to step on Sony's toes to much and just want to come across as a quirky console?
Oh and they definately need to switch those buttons back to the proper places. The whole point of the upgrade is because we all want better SNES emulation (amongst others) and moving the buttons around although not the end of the world is going to be annoying.

I noticed the logo on the console has a red X. I wonder where they got that idea from. ;)
