Awesome Id like to know if you could do this again with some basic map (a floor with soem blocking objects on it.)

But, like I said, we could run around, pretending the walls are stopping us just to make a good video'Muzz' said:Nah not just yet.
We technically we could get it in but not properly and we wouldn't have collision so there wouldn't be much point.
What do you mean by them being playable for a few months after the game is created? :S'huffy' said:hi, I am trying my level design with Blender (never used it before so this should be interesting).
I am going for a small level as it would be cool if these levels were playable for at least a few months after the games created, assuming that this isn't going to knock Halo3 off of the 'top online shooter' list.
Is the jump pad discussion on hold until the theme is picked or are we going to just add whatever suites us now and work around it later?
great work so far btw Butterman
I'm hoping it will! Well, kinda hoping that the Pandora will come soon. But also that we will be at that stage soon. A lot of emphasis is going to be placed on the Windows version, it's going to be integral to stuff like mapping. But I'm not sure how we can do this without the Windows version having a MASSIVE advantage over the Pandy.'Mithrildor' said:So maybe the alpha hits the web before the Pandora hits my mailbox? That would be awesome (and sad, I cant wait for my pandora.)
Sorry, didn't explain that very well. As much fun as I can see this game being, I think it isn't likely to get a 'huge' amount of people playing on it online at any one time. This being due to the amount of Pandoras being available and so much software already in development for it. So I thought smaller leaves from few people would be the way forward...'Butterman' said:What do you mean by them being playable for a few months after the game is created? :S

This game will also be playable on the PC
i have sketchup pro @ work and i can tell you the conversion to 3ds/blender from surfaces to mesh is kind of weird. drawing on faces in sketchup doesn't actually subdivide the face, it creates a new face over the top and connects it via an edge. it's no big deal, i can clean it up in max, check the mesh, then slide it into jmodel via blender.'Butterman' said:Mithrildor: When I tried to use your maps. They exported to .3ds all funky, when I loaded them up in Blender they looked fine. But upon conversion of JModel, they went all funny. It's probably down to the way SketchUp handles face. I'm not sure how it managed to load in Blender and not JModel. But it's not something I can devote my time to sorting out when it already works fine in Blender.
Sorry.
Maybe we should setup one for the Website once the Name is chosen? One where you can Post Links and stuff ;-)'Butterman' said:Stupid forums...
