I hope PSX stuff will continue even if it's not your focus. Better DOSbox would be welcomed aslo ^_^
It's still some kind of funny, that we have full Speed NeoGeo and CPS2 Emulators (This guy who made CPS2 was amazing! ) but still not a Full Speed SNES or GBA Emulator, ok GBA makes BIG steps.Nickmon said:My vote would be to help the guys doing the GBA emulation, if it could be got to the same level that NEOGEO is that would be ace.
DosBox sounds Great. This program hasn't found his way on my SD yet, because of the still poor performance. Please report, when Commander Keen 4 runns Full Speed at 200MHz on GP2X. (Sadly, we don't have an Interpreter like for Keen 1-3 )Tobriand said:DosBox would be my vote, although obviously with the support of the Dosbox team, since it'd be a mammoth undertaking without that. Further PSX work would be cool, too, but if you've reached the current limit, then equally fine to give it a rest for a bit... after all, you came back a few months down the line and netted another few fps last time .
So yeah, order of preference:
- Psx, if (and only if) you think your time would be well spent there, and you're still being interested by the slow (but steady-ish) gains you've been making.
- x86 dynarec for DosBox - I wanna play Tyrian on the move, and I want it a bit faster than it is already!
- Sharp x68000 emu, because it looks very very cool and no-one's tackled it yet.
- OpenTTD, last because it's not a game I play so much, BUT if it's what you feel like doing, go for it (because after all, it's your coding time).

GBA is, for the most part, much more powerful than NeoGeo.
Adventure games are better suited by direct ports; ie: all the major interpreters are already available on most every platform (infocom, sierra, lucasarts, level 7, magnetic scrolls, etc), and porting (say) frotz (for infocom style) is a _one hour job_. The trick is making them playable on handhelds. (I've done that extensively on PDA's like Palm OS, so it can be done quite nicely.)Khan said:1- DOSBOX! (old Infogrames and Sierra SCI adventures on the go = my dream fullfilled... )
2- PSX (Focusing on 2D and simple 3D games in the first place and then moving on with the problematic ones...)

GBA has 32Bit, right? Ok, but when GBA is so powerful (I'm sure he is) why he can't have games like NeoGeo Fighters with all this amazing big Sprites, zooming and Scaling Orgies and all the other Amazing Graphics... or do GBA has? (I don't know much GBA Games )
Is it all because of the huge Module-Rom-Sizes of NeoGeo?
