Ok
I used to have not so great wifi until I bought a new router! (now I have download speeds just shy of 1MiB/s )..so maybe you can try a different router? or change the setup of your router (e.g. channel). Another thing that you could check (if you are not afraid to open up the case and look under the motherboard): maybe you have a loose wifi antenna cable or a pinched cable internally?Have not tested download, only streaming. I can watch the videos on my PC so I don'tneed long taking downloads. Would be just nice if the Youtube streaming works on my Pandora. But somehow my WiFi is totaly screwed up. Slow, high CPU load when surfing, no matter which browser (don't know why that is the case). Speedtest says something ~40 KB/s but I can download faster (PND Manager etc. ), maybe up to 90KB/s Only surfing/streaming is incredible slow.
Really, "Pandora 2" needs MUCH BETTER WiFi or I will never buy it (if P2 ever happens of course). I lost my interest in Pandora mostly, basicly because my WiFi is not usable, my WiFi external WiFi Stick doesn't work on my Pandora and overall, the Pandora feels just slow, everything takes ages, at least in Desktop mode, no real fun. If you see how much faster current iOS or Android Devices are, where everything is smooth and basicly instant, even on comparable CPU power like Pandora has, I am a little bit desperate.
I don't blame "The Tube", I'm sure it runs perfectly on new 1GHz Pandoras but I guess I can forget my old and maybe faulty CC Pandora.
do you have the output of /tmp/pndrun_thetube.. file?Doesn't work for me. Every time i press enter to play a video, the status bar immediatly gives me a "Stopped playing [video title]" message. Also, when trying to download a video, i get a "Downloading [video title] failed" message every time. I have a 1ghz unit with both the codec pack and youtube-dl installed, so i have no idea what could be causing the problem. I tried deleting appdata and reinstalling, updating youtube-dl using The Tube's launcher application, and even de-associated panplayer with video files using pnd-utils. Nothing seems to make The Tube work on my machine
With the Dpad (left/right) you can jump forward/backwards.One question:
I know a GUI is an evil thing and for noobs but is it possible to use SMplayer?
I like to have a slider and some graphical controls as I never used MPlayer before (don't know any shortcuts).
i beleive i am. currently running sz 1.55. last updated a few weeks ago. i'll check for updates again when i go back to school next week (currently on my break).Up on all the OS updates too?

ok,seems the latest youtube-dl introduces a bug - try to remove the appdata/thetube directory and try again without updating youtube-dl. If problems persist please post the pndrun output because then there is another different issue....I'm having the same issues as android927. Select a video, just says "Stopped playing [video title]".
1GHz unit. The Tube is updated, Youtube-DL is updated. Codec pack installed.
Deleted "thetube" from appdata. Restarted The Tube, and it works! Video downloading seams broken but it isn't a biggie.ok,seems the latest youtube-dl introduces a bug - try to remove the appdata/thetube directory and try again without updating youtube-dl. great! downloads should also work (have you set a download directory?) - if you find out anything bout this from the pndrun let me know....Deleted "thetube" from appdata. The short-cut to switch layers doesn't even work on a USB keyboard.. so it's a tad annoying indeed..The default shortcut to switch layer is inherently not compatible with Synergy for remote control either; is there a way to set up a shortcut that is bindable?
