The Pandora Port Request Thread

Hi all :)

I was browsing through @Hooka 's GINGE demos pack, when I realized the Pandora didn't have a proper "Planet Hively" port yet (not on the repo AFAIK) !

http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=49931

The source code is available on Github:

https://github.com/pete-gordon/planet-hively

I gave it a go this morning, and it compiled effortlessly thanks to @ptitSeb 's latest Code::Blocks. I'll package it ASAP in a convenient PND.

EDIT: I'm almost done, the only thing missing is the icon ;)

EDIT 2: done :p

Sweet deal ptitSeb, should mean everything needed for gmenu2x is in there by now instead of me compiling libs... hopefully I'll be looking at that again in a week or two :)

As for trying to stay on topic: http://heroes.sourceforge.net/index.html <- thoroughly enjoyed playing this on GP2X, would love to see it on Pandora (doesn't run in GINGE and too busy to dig into it myself atm)

About that new Codeblocks beta.
well, it's taking longer that I expected.
First, you need to know that I need 6h to create the PND (I compress with xz, using a PC, but the network transfert from the Pandora kills the performances, and it's not handy for to unmount my SDCard were all sources are, so I do that on night). It then take me like 8h to transfert the 2.6GB, as I have a slow network (and I do that at night to, to avoid eating all bandwith at home).
I had a version ready and transfered Saaturday morning, and then, launching a C++ build, I noticed I have a few "#include_next" in system include that didn't work (most #include_next from GCC wont work because /mnt/utmp/codeblocks/usr/include is not considered a system folder). So I fixed the files (simply changing to #include statement), but I waited saturday night to rebuild the PND.
In the mean time, I built stuffs...
Then this morning (Sunday), I have just started building some simple SDL game... And I noticed I have link error for libpulse (because I tried to update that, then change my mind and go back to the firmware version, but forgetting to put some symlink in /mnt/utmp/codeblocks/usr/lib)... So yeah, tonight, I 'll have to build that PND again...

You could also user USB-Networking.

I think he means running a USB cable between your computer and the Pandora and setting it up as a virtual ethernet connection.
It's a lot faster way to transfer data than any type of wifi connection.

Hi all :)

Could Kingpin be ported to the Pandora ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingpin:_Life_of_Crime

According to Wikipedia, the game was ported to Linux:

https://www.bluesnews.com/s/11584

The SDK seems to be available on Sourceforge:

https://sourceforge.net/p/kingpin-sdk-update/code/ci/master/tree/

Some other important files are on Quaddicted:

https://www.quaddicted.com/files/idgames2/planetquake/planetkingpin/patches/

Opinions ?

EDIT: just sent an e-mail to the publisher, Interplay.
EDIT 2: another e-mail sent to the kingpin.info community

Cheers, Magic Sam
Did you see that also:

I would like to request any decent memory editor. The Pandora doesn't seem to have any.

By "memory edit" I mean like WinHack or GameHack or CheatEngine or the like. There's a bazillion of them for both Windows and Linux. Anything that lets you search a processes active memory for a value and change it would work.

A couple I know of for Linux include scanmem and GameConqueror, but really anything that works similar would be much appreciated!

This would allow editing or cheating any game that works on the Pandora, including all emulators. I'm really surprised I can't find anything like this in the repo, this seems like a pretty basic tool.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all :)

I have compiled Ulric Eriksson's Siag Office on the Pandora, thanks as usual to @ptitSeb 's latest beta Code::Blocks:
Siag Office is a tightly integrated, free office package. It consists of the spreadsheet Siag, the word processor PW, the animation program Egon, the text editor XedPlus, the file manager Xfiler and the previewer Gvu.

I'll push the package to the Repo ASAP !

EDIT : egon segfaults

Ok I just wanted to report, scanmem compiles fine and works great from github using Code::Blocks pnd. The GUI (GameConqueror) does not work but scanmem itself has full functionality. For fullscreen games and applications that I can't ALT+TAB or switch virtual desktops for, the way to go is to SSH into the Pandora (dropbear) and use scanmem from the ssh session.

Now I don't have to start from scratch in Gran Turismo 2, among other benefits.
