The Caring Corner :)

I was gonna try to see my doctor about tachycardia, but two things happened. First, I realized that doctors are very busy right now. Second, I found out that if I just sit down and sit still for a few minutes, I can get my pulse to drop into the nineties.

I’m just wondering now if care will be available if the thing on my back turns out to be melanoma. True fact: COVID-19 can cause rashes, especially on the toes. Would hate for all the dermatologists to be swamped with cases of COVID toes.

My pulse is dropping into the eighties when I sit down now. It has me a little concerned, actually. This is the first time I’ve seen it hit eighties, and I’ve been measuring regularly for four days. I wonder exactly what changed.

I mean, eighties is preferable to tachycardia, but I don’t like not knowing why it changed or why it was high before.

A healthy fit man's heart should be somewhere in the 60s when sitting, rested (and presumably not digesting a big feed). I'd expect a healthy fit woman's heart to be similar, but I don't recall being taught that.

He yearns for having interesting ailments. Thus a healthy lifestyle would be counterproductive.

That reminds me, my oxygen level was around 98% for a bit this morning. Even saw it hit 99% for once. Fortunately, I drank some coffee, and it went back down to the 96% that I’m used to. I was all afraid I was healthy there for a while.

Feeling nauseous as crap this morning. Not sure if it's COVID-19, or if I just swallowed too much Azelastine-laced snot. Darnit, Azelastine is supposed to prevent snot, not mix with it then go down my throat.

I got a doctor’s appointment for Monday to check out the thing on my back. I doubt they can do a biopsy at a general practice though, so I’ll probably just get a referral to a local dermatologist. Still feels nice to have it checked out before my vacation in October though.

Biopsy is just a fancy name for hacking a chunk out of you. I'd be surprised if they had to be that specialised to do that, but I have no experience of biopsies so far.

Aren’t men supposed to start getting annual prostate tests from ~age 40?

I've been having one since my early twenties, the doctor makes a house call and it only takes a few minutes. I'm still not entirely sure why I have to strip naked and lie down on my front though, also one thing that I've learned is fingers feel thicker than they look.

My heart rate dipped into the seventies just now. I think maybe it’s because I haven’t eaten in over a day. Kinda sucks, I wanted to discuss a possible tachycardia with my doctor, but I can’t if it isn’t there anymore.

My temperature is 96.5 degrees right now, lower than it should be, but not distressing.

I woke up just now kinda terrified, and with my usual 100 beats per minute heart rate. Body temp fell even further to 96.3 degrees. I feel like something bad happened, but I don’t know exactly what. I feel like maybe someone was trying to kill me in my sleep.

I saw on one page that antidepressants may increase melanoma risk, so I looked it up, and it turns out that even though serotonin helps edit: promote melanocyte growth, use of antidepressants was actually found in a study to be associated with decreased melanoma risk. One possible explanation they floated for this is that people with depression get less sunlight.
